Lotus Healing Seva Group on Kenya Television!!

K 24, a popular TV channel in Kenya interviewed Lotus Healing Seva Group about Reiki and the role it plays in treating cancer patients. They filmed us treating cancer patients at Faraja Cancer Support Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, where we volunteer every week.

Being on Television was a first for LHSG, and we also felt very honoured to have been chosen to talk about Reiki!

Our first patient was  an elderly lady called Sushilaben. The second one was Jane, and the third one was Violet, the K24 TV presenter, who wanted to experience Reiki for herself! The LHSG Sevaks on this day were Raj, Lata, Pratima, Yvonne and myself.

The video clip is partly in English, partly in Kiswahili. Enjoy!

LHSG UK’s Seva in August !

On 3rd of August, LHSG UK Group had hired a stall at a Mela (Health Fair)
At the mela our stall was offering 15min healing for £5.00 all proceeds to go to LHSG charity after the expenses. Mala, Savita, Anita, Mona, Bharti, Neha and myself attended to offer healing. Although it was a very quiet day for the whole mela, we had a fair day as we managed to help & heal 10 people.

Then on Thursday 29th August nine of us, Mala, Anita, Bharti, Mona,Bina, Bejan, Neha Sriti and myself did seva healing for the members of Navnat Vadil Kendra (Elderly Centre)
30 individual healings were done & the last eight had to be given group Reiki because the time was limited as the hall had to be given back.
I started by introducing myself & the group & gave an explanation about Reiki & how it works.
Then the healers started the healing while I continued to talk about our group & the charity work done by the Lotus Healing Seva Group.
There were lots of questions & curiosity about healing & lots of business cards were taken.
We only had just over an hour for the seva. We left it open for them to re invite us, and a few people showed interest in one to one healing.
A few people put their names down for one month healing.

Healing of tumour by LHSG India members!

We have started our seva at the St Joseph’s Home for old people in Kolkatta, India, on 16th July 2013. From that day onward we have visited there 6 times.
We gave 5 healings to Mr.Taraknath. Manisha gave 2 times, me 2 times and we both, ones which was on last Wednesday 14th August.
He had a tumor in his left side of throat just below the chin. Despite of so many medications, tests, his tumor remain same and he was getting afraid that what is this? is it malignant in nature? if yes then what will happen to him, how can he arrange fund for operation, chemo etc..and became highly depressed. After our first visit, he felt better as Reiki started working on him in the emotional level also. We have seen him waiting for us from the very next week. In our 4th visit there were 2 more people and less time, he missed his session with us and told us that we should arrange our time accordingly as there are more people now. Last week the tumor was hanging. Both of us gave healing to him and assured him that it will fallen off by itself. Today when we saw him that tumor wasn’t there at all and he told us that it falls down in last Thursday. He thanks us and our group for such blessings. He was very cheerful today. And we are very happy for him.

Reiki Training at the Girls Shelter ……

It is with happy hearts and much excitement that LHSG Kenya members Pratima, Shariffa, Lata, Mamta, Raj and I went to the Talia Agler Girls Shelter just outside of Nairobi on Monday 12th August. We had been invited by the manager to train the residents of the shelter in Reiki. This was a plus for us, for it is Lotus Healing Seva Group’s mission to spread the knowledge of Reiki and training in this gentle healing therapy, especially to the disadvantaged members of our society.
The shelter houses girls that have been victims of abuse, child trafficking, child labour, unaccompanied refugees, etc. They ranged in age from 12 to 18 years. They were very much looking forward to the training, because a Reiki healing session administered to them by us a few weeks earlier had resulted in huge positive changes in them emotionally, mentally and physically.
So on the morning of 12th August, 17 girls, their teacher, and the manager of the shelter listened carefully as we taught them about chakras and then lay down with excited anticipation for the Reiki attunement. Self healing followed, and a question and answer session.
They were extremely grateful to us for taking the time to introduce Reiki to them, and we in turn were grateful to them for affording us an opportunity to fulfill our mission. They were also very grateful for the sausages Monica had donated to them and the cake Lata had made for them. They started singing their gratitude! And then, we were taken by surprise as they spontaneously started hugging us and saying how much they loved us ……..and we reciprocated by hugging them back! Soon there was so much ‘love’ in the air, and more than one of us had our eyes mist over with tears of joy ……..
Two weeks later we went back to the shelter to teach them how to heal others. This time we took rubber slippers for each of them (an item requested by their manager Dorothy), a bale of maizemeal flour, and some tins of beans and meat sauce ……
When asked to comment on how Reiki had helped them, all of them had this to say: Reiki has removed my stress …….. I don’t feel ‘sad’ any more ………
