FREE REIKI LEVEL 1 CAMP

The LHSG (UK) held its first FREE Reiki camp on 14th June 2009, in the Sindhi Centre in Harrow!

Although more than hundred people had registered, 51 came on the day, the drop in number being due, no doubt, to the heavy thunderstorm and rain the night before and on the morning itself.

The teaching and attunement was done by Kamal Tolia. And as expected, (no surprise here), all were overwhelmed with the power of Reiki, during the attunement, during the self healing, and during the partner healing. And they could not get over how simple yet effective the technique was …… just lay your hands and let Reiki do the rest!!!

The group members Bina Shah (Leader), Mala Tolia, Neha Mamtora, Anita Shah, Surbhi Shah, Mona Joshi, Bharti Nandy, Bijan Popat, Anantbala Whitfield, and Savita Karekar, and Raakhee Shah (volunteer) once again, felt blessed to be able to do this Seva work for the community.

As usual, donations were collected for charity.

Seva work for the Elderly

On 26th May 2009, The Lotus Healing Seva Group UK started its First Seva activity by giving FREE Reiki to the ladies of the Elderly Womens’ Harrow Group. First a talk was given on Reiki by Bina Shah in Gujarati, to the more than 160 women gathered in the hall, followed by Kamal Tolia speaking in Hindi about the activities of the LHSG. Then five chairs were placed in the front, and the women queued to receive Reiki from the LHSG UK members Bina Shah (Leader), Surbhi Shah, Anita Shah and Neha Mamtora and from Kamal Tolia. The benefits were realized by many almost immediately. But the ladies were many. All could not be attended to individually within the time allowed. So with only 15 minutes left, the Group members decided to send distance group healing to all the ladies in the hall.

The Second Seva activity was done on 4th June 2009 for the 150 -160 elderly men and women of the Navjivan Vadil Kendra in Edgeware. 10 group members took part: Bina Shah (Leader), Mala Tolia, Neha Mamtora, Anita Shah, Surbhi Shah, Mona Joshi, Bharti Nandy, Bijan Popat,  Savita Karekar and Kamal Tolia. Once again after an introduction of the beautiful healing energy of Reiki and the Seva activities of the LHSG, 10 chairs were placed in front of the hall and the LHSG members got to work right away. The afflictions were many and varied ….. stroke victims, heel spurs, depression, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, backaches, paralysis, insomnia, skin conditions, cancer, etc. The results in most cases were nothing short of dramatic! One lady, a stroke victim,  who had little strength in her hand before, could quite firmly hold a glass of water in that hand without her hand shaking at all! Another felt pain free In his back for the first time in months … ! One with heel spurs was walking around pain free! And a depressed lady came up to say how much lifted in spirits she felt. So moved were they by the healing power of Reiki, that they all lined up to relate their experience over the mike!

Truly, we had been blessed by many Reiki miracles on that day !

Money was donated freely for charity by the grateful ladies and men in both groups.

FREE Emotional Freedom Technique Workshop

KFA Lounge, Kodak Centre, Harrow

Kamal Tolia conducted this FREE workshop in two sessions, with the support of the Lotus Healing Seva Group (UK). Over 45 people attended these free sessions which were run on a donation for charity basis. They were a mixture of male and female, old and young, and even school going kids. All came to learn how to release their emotions by the well known tapping method which they were shown on the first day. Their homework was to use the procedure on themselves for their emotional, mental or physical issues before the next session.

The next day almost all had success stories to relate…….. Bina Shah (LHSG UK Leader) had released her fear of driving to ‘new places’, Harriette was able to release her grief over losing her cat leaving her to focus on the happy times she had with her pet instead, Urmilaben had begun to get over her fear of ‘having a simple conversation with her son’, and yet another lady slept better for the first time in months, because she could turn in bed without pain in her knee ………. And so it went.

A big thank you goes to Shahnaz and Indu (LHSG member) for bravely coming up in front of the audience to release their Fear of ‘death’ and Fear of ‘ meeting her boss everyday’ respectively, and also to the young man who achieved a 50% release of his deep rooted trauma.
Towards the end of the second day, Kamal shared with all, a method she was shown in her meditations, of how to achieve an even deeper release of their emotions from their chakras.

As usual, photographs were taken. When they were viewed, we were overjoyed to see we had been blessed by ORBS! Angels, Spirit Guides and Higher Beings had been with us throughout our workshop!

Donation to GVRC Nairobi Women’s Hospital

Today 21st May, five of us went to The Nairobi Wmone’s Hospital -Myself, Vipon,Punita,Laxmi and Amelia. Prafulla had to go Naivasha so couldn’t join us and Bhavna went to mombasa. We did not call up all members as mutually decided by Punita and myself.

At the reception we were told they were expecting us and everyone we spoke to were familiar with the mention of LHSG. Following are the details:

Upon reaching the GVRC reception LHSG members were escorted to the board room. They were joined by a four mamber team from GVRC—namely1. Mr. Simon Kibe Kibue, the hospital’s Human Resources and Administration Manager. 2.Ms Alberta Wambua, the Deputy Programmes Manager, 3. Ms Grace Mwangi,Deputy Marketing Manager and 4. Sister Alice Kibui,Nurse Manager. Mr. Simon addressed the group members and informed that he was representing Dr. Sam Thenya and apologised on his behalf for being unable to be present.

LHSG was represented by Monica Gokaldas, Punita Acharya, Laxmi Vellani, Dr. Vipon Bhakri and Amelia. After exchanging greetings and taking seats Monica first explained to the GVRC team about the various activites conducted by the group and their involvement with the NWH/GVRC. Simon mentioned that they were aware of the involvement and have been briefed about the group by Dr. Sam Thenya. They all mutually were appreciative of the donations and healings provided by LHSG and reminded that the group had in the past brought in contributions of sanitary napkins and panties besides some other articles.

Punita informed the GVRC about the various charitable projects undertaken by LHSG and the free reiki courses conducted on a regular basis. Then she presented Simon with a cheque for kshs 15,000.00 on behalf of the group. Monica mentioned to them That Mrs. Tolia had travelled hence was unable to join that day, and gave to them Mrs. Tolia’s visiting cards for further reference.

Simon further did an oral presentation about GVRC. The GVRC first commenced in 2001 and is a charitable trust. Since then they have been conducting various excercises for the care and treatment of abused women, children and men. He informed that the hospital gets roughly about 2800 cases per year and on an average they get 230 new cases per month. They have been helping some of the patients on a long term basis and even facilitate and provide for their transport, medication and councelling besides training the victims family members in more severe and traumatised cases.

The youngest victim of sexual abuse brought to the hospital was a one month old girl and the oldest was a 105 year old woman. On an average 45% victims brought are children, 6% are men and the rest are women. They cater for in house and out sourced clinical examinations of the patients and also are supported by the law. They often go and rescue the victims from the clutches of the offenders or families with police accompaniment and legal documentation.

The two groups then had some refreshments and a photo session together and the LHSG proceeded to the wards for healing along with sister Alice. Sister Alice joined in the healing this time and brought in some personal requests as well.
