The Internally Displaced People in Kenya were still living in camps in far from ideal conditions. The needs of women and girls were worse than they had ever been. The Lotus Healing Seva Group donated:
17 cartons of Sanitary Towels
500 jars of Vaseline
100 combs
and 420 pairs of underwear
We held a Reiki level 2 workshop for those that had participated in the Free Reiki Level 1 course in October 2007 and wanted to proceed to the next level
Following the Post election violence in Kenya in February 2008, hundreds of thousands of people were displaced in their own country. They were living in makeshift camps in unsanitary conditions. They had no clothes, no food, and worse, the women and girls were in desperate need of sanitary towels. The Lotus Healing Seva Group donated 14 bundles of Sanitary towels to ‘The Caravan of Hope Drive’ through East FM, a local Radio Station.
In February 2008, Kenya was going through some turbulent times following the post election crisis. Talks between the opposing parties were deadlocked, in spite of international peace efforts, and thousands of Kenyans were displaced refugees in their own country!!
We organized and carried out a 24 hour Healing / Prayer Chain for peace in Kenya. People from all over the world joined us in this unique effort: Dubai, Canada, UK, USA, Australia, India, Switzerland and of course Kenya. They consisted of groups from Temples, Mosques, and Churches, and individuals with love for Kenya in their hearts! Some were as young as 6 years! The other end of the age range were 76 years old!! The prayer chain was from 6.00 am February 14th, Valentines Day, to 6.00 am February 15th.
In effect, we made Kenya our Valentine! We sent her Love and Healing on Valentines Day!! The Chain was repeated a week later on 21st February. And what was the result? A breakthrough was made in the talks and Peace followed soon. We do believe the 24 hour Healing / Prayer chain contributed greatly to this change!
