September 30^th 2020 saw 64 children and teachers of Mukuru Outreach Kenya Academy in the Mukuru Sinai slum of Nairobi board a bus for the spacious Hall of the Shree Sanatana Dharma Sabha Temple in Nairobi. The event of the day was a Reiki Level 1 training camp!

LHSG’s Punita Acharya conducted the Reiki camp, assisted by LHSG members Lata Kanji, Anju Gupta, Shalini Srivastava, Sonal Patel, and Neena Gupta.

Today we had our Reiki level one camp for the children of Mukuru Outreach Kenya Academy.

We had a total of 58 children and 6 teachers. We started with the history of Reiki and moved on to the chakras. The children picked up every position & name of chakras within minutes. This was followed by attunement. After that, the children did self-healing with full dedication.

Finally it was lunch….fun for all, as the plates were filled with chips, kidney beans in gravy, rice cooked with vegetables and delicious puri’s. This was so palatable that the half an hour’s lunch break felt short.

After lunch we started partner healing where there was a peaceful atmosphere. As Reiki flowed through the healers hands the healee felt relaxed. This was such a satisfying & gratifying feeling for me, as I knew at this moment we have more Reiki healers in this world.

These proud new healers were given certificates in the end. As we ended the session LHSG gave them milk and biscuits to go home with.

It was a lovely experience teaching these beautiful souls and am ever so grateful to my sisters who accompanied me today. Without Shalini, Anju, Neena, Sonal, and Lata today Reiki seva camp would not have been possible.

Continuing our 14th Annversary celebrations, I am happy to announce that on 24th January 2020, we expanded into Abu Dhabi, thanks to our UAE Head, Kirtikala Kamdar our UAE member Pooja Tiwari. They conducted a Reiki Level Training Camp. 10 new Reiki Healers were created that day!

Our 1st Reiki level 1 free (on donation) in Abudhabi, UAE was held on January 24th, 2020. I, Kirtikala Kamdar, taught them and Pooja Tiwari, who came from Dubai to Abudhabi at my residence, was there to help me out in every possible way. We had 11 ladies who attended it.

All those who came were so eager to learn. They were quick learners. They also had so many questions and it was good to see their 100% participation. Teaching them was amazing and with each class I myself learn something from people because they share their experiences.

One of them was removing her jewellery and keeping aside and upon asking why she did this she replied that she attended a Reiki class elsewhere before. there they told them not to wear any metal during healing. And I told her it’s a wrong concept as Reiki has it’s own wisdom. That is the beauty of Usui Reiki that we do not have any rules and regulations.

There are so many mis-conceptions about Reiki among people. My answer to her and others was to be an empty box and gather the knowledge given on that day. Its was an amazing class. Thank you dear all for being so attentive.

I collected Dirhams 580 and since I am in India I shall be doing donations here.

I will give to that lady who takes care of dogs. Got to know about an orphanage so will donate some money for education there.

If the secret to living a ‘life’ is to live for others, then on 18^th January 2020, Lotus Healing Seva Group were privileged to know this secret as they gave Reiki Level 1 training to 23 children of Std 8, and 8 teachers of the Thika School for the Visually impaired. Most of them were completely or partially visually impaired. A very few of teachers could actually see. 

It doesn’t take brains to know that the whole method of teaching had to be adjusted to take their disability into account, for example, the pictures of the Reiki Masters had to be taken individually to each child so he could hold them close to his eyes, their hands had to be physically guided to each Reiki position, etc. But they were smart. Once shown, they did a sterling job of remembering and very soon became super healers!

Healing self was followed by healing others, all done with serious concentration, and absolute commitment.

LHSG had sponsored the lunch for the whole school of 450 children. It consisted of rice, green grams, and cabbage. We also gave a packet of milk to each child.

At the end, they all promised to do Reiki every day on themselves, and to repeat the 5 Principles of Reiki. A number of them shared how well the magic of Reiki had already worked on them. Their testimonies are in the videos below.

A couple of days later, my joy was multiplied when the Deputy Head John Musau informed me on the phone that he and the children were feeling more relaxed, less shy, and more confident … all as a result of them doing the Reiki daily on themselves!

The LHSG Sevaks that were privileged to do this extraordinary seva were: Sheela Shah, Monica Gokaldas, Sonal Patel, Bhavna Baga, Baiju Vora, Pratima Dutt, Shariffa Keshavjee, Laveena Keswani, Neena Sehgal and I, Kamal Tolia.

We are very grateful to the Headmistress of the School Margaret Njuguna who kindly gave her permission for us to conduct the workshop in the school and to the Deputy Head John Musau for his support in planning and executing the Reiki workshop.

Gratitude to God and the Universe for affording us this golden opportunity to reach out to others that face far more challenges than we have or will ever know!
