The Reiki l camp at Faraja today was conducted by our Cooky and I taught the Reiki ll group. The 3 people in my group were 2 girls from HMGC and one lady from the Reiki l camp that I had in Faraja earlier in the year.

It was wonderful to hear how Rachel, Evelyn and Carolyn have been healing themselves and dear ones around them. When I started off with the symbols, all three of them applied themselves very keenly to master the symbols. They quickly got the hang of it. Once attunement, followed by self healing, was done, we broke off for a short tea break.

As we resumed, and all the different distant healing modalities were explained, all three ladies were amazed at the various situations one could send Reiki to. The Reiki box was a hit as always. The ladies were thrilled at the concept of a Reiki box and couldn’t wait to write all their intentions.

I managed to end by 1.30pm but not before getting assurance from all to do self healing and Reiki box healing every day.

Thank you Cooky for your valuable assistance and Congratulations for conducting the Reiki l session successfully.

Gratitude always for this rewarding experience.

Reiki Seva for Cows and Feeding Them

On 20th September 2019, LHSG members Sheela Shah, Cooky Vora, Monica Gokaldas, Pratima Dutt, Lavina Keswani, Mamta Advani, Lata Kanji and I did our first seva to commemorate LHSG’s 14 years of Seva.

It was a Gau Seva, which translates into Cow seva. We went to two farms, to give Reiki to the cows. We had taken with us, carrots, bananas, jaggery, fennel seeds and mustard leaves to feed the cows. While they loved all these things, by far the favourite was the mustard leaves!

We had also donated Sh 7000 (approx. US$ 70) for wheat bran and hay, which makes up their usual diet. When the cows saw the treats we had brought them,  they got excited and some of them, literally in seconds, took them off our hands!

We blessed them with Reiki, and did Ho’oponopono to each of them. We asked for forgiveness from them for putting them through so much pain and for confining them in those small spaces all their life.

This seva came at a very special time for our Hindu, Jain and Sikh members, because it is Shraad, a period in which we ask for forgiveness from our ancestors (pitrus), as well as blessings from them and during which we do a lot of charity work on their behalf.

It was a very moving experience for all of us as we fed them with our hands and gave the Reiki.

At the end Monica led us with a prayer for our Pitrus, we chanted Aum Shanti, Shanti, Shantihi.

Please do read the rest of the report and watch the videos.

Thank you

We had a very fulfilling afternoon at the Gaushalas. We went to two different places and at both places we spread ourselves out to feed the cows in keeping with our Hindu/Sanatan Dharam and gave them healing in keeping with our LHSG mission.

I felt very grateful and became emotional in gratitude as only the fortunate get to do such seva during this period of Pitru Paksh. We dedicated the seva to all our ancestors and I am sure they blessed us.

We also did Ho’oponopono to the cows and the last cow whom we said Ho’oponopono to had tears in her eyes. It was a very humbling, spiritual and full of gratitude experience.

This wss my first time doing this wonderful humbling Gau Seva. I felt very sorry for all the harshness and sad situation all these cows endure just to serve our needs. I said a heartfelt forgiveness chant to all the cows we fed. I am very grateful for this opportunity especially during this shraad period.

Gau Sewa was a very touching experience. Felt deep deep gratitude to these gentle mothers who have nurtured humanity for thousands of years. I felt very sorry about how we humans treat all the animals that serve us in any way!

I did Hoponopono to Gau mata.

Dedicating this Sewa to our pitru was a very powerful and humbling experience.

Celebrating Our Reiki Founder Guru’s Birthday Seva No 2

Continuing with our celebrations of our Reiki Founder Guru Mikao Usui’s Birth Anniversary, on 15th August, here is our Seva No. 2.

Forgiveness is the the priceless gem of a life lived in love, with love.

Ho’oponopono is the ancient Hawaiian art of ‘setting things right’. In modern times it stands for both: asking for forgiveness and for forgiving and letting go.

On 15th August, LHSG founder member Punita Acharya, and new members Sonal Patel, Sejal Shah and Jilna Shah, and I, met at the Faraja Cancer support Centre at 9 am, all ready to share the knowledge and practice of Ho’oponopono.

The 18 participants were cancer patients and survivors, care givers and volunteers at the Faraja Cancer Support Centre, Nairobi, as well as our three new members.

The meaning of Ho’opnonpono was explained, and the between asking for forgiveness and forgiving and letting go was elaborated upon.

After a short break midway through the workshop, the following exercises were done, of asking for forgiveness from

  1. a person we have hurt
  2. our ancestors
  3. Mother Earth and all the waters of the Earth
  4. ourselves and
  5. a sick part in our body

They also did the exercise of forgiving a person who had hurt them.

And finally, we chanted the Ho’oponopono mantra for 5 minutes for general forgiveness.

The whole workshop was well received, with many of the participants reporting feeling lighter and forgiven, as well as free as they forgave and let go.

We have been associated with FCSC since its foundation 7 years ago. We volunteer our Reiki services every week at the centre. As ever, our gratitude to Shaira Adamjee, the founder of FCSC. We are also very grateful to Dr Philip Odiyo, to Judy and Daan, and to all the volunteers that worked so hard to ensure the success of this workshop.

Love and Light to all

Celebrating Our Reiki Founder Guru’s Birthday Seva No 1

Every year, LHSG (Kenya chapter) honours our Guru Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki, by doing special Reiki sevas on his birthday, which falls on August 15th.

This year we did 3 sevas:

  1. We conducted a Reiki Level 2 Workshop for the disabled Children and their helpers at the Compassionate Hands Centre for the Disabled in Ruai, Nairobi
  2. We conducted a Ho’oponopono Forgiveness Workshop at the Faraja Cancer Support Centre, Nairobi
  3. We sent distant Booster Reiki Attunements to our members.

Here is the report and pictures of the first event. LHSG member Sheela Shah conducted the Reiki level 2 Camp at Ruai, assisted by LHSG members Shariffa Keshavjee and Aunuradha Nath.

We have been associated with the Compassionate Hands centre for the past 6 years, having trained their children and staff in Reiki, as well as sponsoring some of their children for education. Our thanks go to Anne Njeri, the founder of the Compassionate Hands Centre for continuing to allow us to empower the children.

Thank you!

The Reiki ll camp at Compassionate Hands home, Ruai, went very well. Shariffajee, Anuradha and I with Festo on the wheel, arrived at the home within the hour of leaving Parklands. We started in good time and got straight into the symbols. Out of the 15 children present, 7 of them were sitting in as a refresher and the rest (8), were new. They were attentive and grasped memorizing the symbols well. Attunement was uneventful but restful. It was good to see everyone remembering their chakras as they did the self-healing exercise. After a 45 mins lunch break, we resumed. The children were intrigued about the concept of absent healing. They eagerly wanted to send healing to 2 children from the home who were currently in the hospital for respiratory ailments. We sent Angel healing for complete recovery from all respiratory problems. For Evelyn, we used the pillow method, where we visualised her lying on the pillow and placed our hands on her chest. We then visualised Evelyn smiling and looking well after the healing.

The Reiki box concept was quite thrilling for them too. They were happy to write several intentions. Healing Mother Earth was clearly also a new idea that they had not thought of. We ended with a happy song/ dance, courtesy of Shariffajee’s guidance.

Group pictures were taken, certificates were handed out and all the donations of rice, water melons, and milk were received graciously.

All went well, and Anne Njeri the founder of the centre was very grateful for our interest in empowering the children. We were also assisted by one of the workers there, Amina, who is a former Hawkers Market Girls Centre Graduate.

Thank you Shariffajee and Anuradha for your ever valuable assistance and guidance. Last but not least, gratitude to Reiki for the opportunity and successful camp.
