12th Anniversary Seva no. 14

Continuing with our mission of empowering the poor and needy with Reiki, LHSG Kenya conducted a Reiki level 2 camp for the girls and staff of Talia Agler Girls Shelter for abused, exploited, abandoned and trafficked girls. This happened on 15th November 2017.

The centre’s manager Marion had shared with us the positive changes that had occurred with her as well as the girls at the centre after doing Reiki 1 a few months ago. This has been shared in the recording below.

Without further ado, I request you to read what Sheela who conducted this camp and Nalina, Lata and Laveena who assisted her did on this day at the centre.

As always, please watch the slide show.

On 15th November Nalina, Lata, Laveena and I were at the TAGS girls shelter to conduct Reiki level II. We arrived there by 9.35am and were happy to see Marion had kept the room ready and the girls were also ready, waiting for us. After doing registration, we started promptly.

There were 25 girls in total. 22 girls were from the group Nalina had taught Reiki I a couple of months ago and the other 3 were girls doing a refresher. The girls shared some of their experiences, like being able to heal themselves of their aches and pains and also to help their friends with their ailment with Reiki. With this positive feedback, I promised them Reiki II will empower them even more in their healing abilities.

After taking a bit of time in learning the symbols, the attunement was done. Once awake and alert, the girls expressed how refreshed and rested they felt. Also a couple of them shared how they saw colours and bright white light during the attunement.

When we started self- healing, it was wonderful to see they knew all the chakras well and the correct sequence of positioning their hands.

Then it was time for lunch. The girls enjoyed their veg biriyani lunch that was sponsored by our Lotus group.

Once again we started the second half of the session promptly. The girls were intrigued by all the various causes they could now send Reiki to. We also talked about the importance of healing the earth and how they can contribute to this cause. We suggested for them to allocate a certain day and time to do group healing for all their Reiki boxes.

The session ended well and we then took a few group pictures. We promised to be back very soon to conduct the next Reiki I session for the new comers.

My gratitude to Nalina, Lata and Laveena for their valuable support and assistance and gratitude to Kamalji for this humbling seva opportunity.

12th Anniversary Seva No. 13

There is a place in the Westlands area of Nairobi called ‘Ashram’. It is a home for elderly people, who have no other place to go in their twilight years.

Lotus Healing Seva Group, Kenya, came to know about this place from a friend Kanwaljeet Mahajan, who is also a friend of the Ashram. She asked us to visit the home to give Reiki to the residents of the place. Ever ready to spread Reiki, we took up the invitation, and within 2 weeks Mamta Advani, Monica Gokaldas and I went to the place, to familiarize ourselves with the residents and their needs, leading to us starting a weekly Reiki healing schedule starting in September for the residents, the cook, the care taker, and the house help.

As the weeks went by, they reported feeling better, calmer, lighter, sleeping better, and generally feeling very good. No surprises here! But we also came to realize that they are lonely people. They loved our company. They looked forwards to our visits every week, and chatted with us as we gave them Reiki.

So, Pratima Parihar LHSG Kenya came up with a wonderful idea of bringing some joy in their lives by making their Divali (17th October) Special. But due to certain issues in our country Kenya, and one of the residents being hospitalized, this event had to be postponed till 1st November.

The program started with LHSG’s  sevaks Pratima Dutt, Bindi Shah and I giving Reiki to the people. We then played the ‘passing the parcel’ game with them. We were not sure how this would go …. but to our happy surprise, they loved it …… you will see it from the way they participated in the videos ….. When the music stopped, the one with the cushion (parcel) in his / her hand had to sing a song / say a prayer / a joke …… They loved this part too and contributed by singing a bhajan or prayer with sincere devotion!

The next ‘game’ was trying to light as many candles as possible with one matchstick. Each one had a go … and everybody had fun counting loudly each time a candle was lit!

After that we gave them gifts … the men each received ‘a mala’ (prayer beads) and the ladies each a pack of nail polish and lipstick. They were overwhelmed with the gift and very grateful!

A nutritious Indian lunch from a restaurant which had been ordered by LHSG followed next. After serving them, we sat down at the table with them and had  the meal together

On another note, one of the residents, Mansukhbhai had been using Ho’oponopono (taught by to him by Pratima) for the last couple of months between himself and his sons. In the video below, he shares his experience (in Gujarati) of using this Hawaiian Forgiveness Techinique. Please do watch his video …. It will touch your heart as he relates what happened …. note the catch in his voice along with the joy and the accompanying tears (behind the glasses) as he relates how his son and daughter in law called him up after 2 years!

Nutan, the cook also shares her experience in Gujarati of how much positive difference Reiki has made in her life!

Our next plan is to teach all of these lovely people Reiki and to help them plant trees in their compound.

Thank you for reading this post!

Love and Light to all!

The 12th Anniversary Seva celebrations continue with a Reiki Level 2 Training Camp for 38 children aged 8 – 10 years of Sathya Sai School in Uthiru, Nairobi. The school caters to children of the nearby slums. The camp was conducted on 24th October 2017, by LHSG Kenya’s Mamta, assisted by Lata, Yatinder and Priya.

As always, it was a joy to further these sweet innocent children in their Reiki healing journey!

The Reiki 2 camp for 38 students was a great experience! The students were waiting eagerly for us before time and had lovely experiences to share concerning using Reiki in their lives. They had been doing Reiki on themselves and on family members with excellent results! Their parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, soshos (grandmothers) all felt better. One of them said she gave Reiki to her mother as her mother was tired after work and her mother fell asleep after Reiki and felt relaxed and fresh!

I asked them if their grades had improved and 80% of them raised their hands and felt that Reiki has improved their concentration!

Learning distance healing we sent healing to Kenya for a peaceful election and even programmed healing to the election. They were super excited about this and a few of them ran to tell the principal about this after the camp.

The principal told us that a teacher who had learnt Reiki in our previous camp is practicing on herself. He sees lots of changes in her. She is happier and doesn’t complain so much like she did earlier!

All the positive feedback was very encouraging!

The children learnt different forms of distant healing, made their Reiki boxes and learnt the power of group healing!

Priya, Lata, Yatinder and I felt wonderful after this Sewa!

I had lots of pain  in my hip joints and legs since  last  2 days.

As  I started the  attunement, I felt the presence of Sai Baba,  all went  well.  Then  I noticed that  my  pain is less and  by  1pm  the 60%of pain  was  gone  and I felt better. Which means, that even as I was sharing love and light with these youngsters, I was being healed!

It was a great experience  and the hugs  given by girls at the end were so lovely!

I am happy I got an opportunity to do Seva.  When  giving the attunement, Master Usui was with me, holding my hand. Believe me I never felt tired at all.

God bless, Love and Light,

Before we went on the 17 October I had send a message to the LHSG members to send Reiki to all the people and the volunteers that will be visiting the area on the day to collect food.

We had planned to send Reiki to the food that will be served .

Healing to all to go to them for physical emotional and mental state for one month starting  on 16 October.

The experience of serving the food was very moving as some people who came to receive the food were very humble , very shy and very appreciative that we were doing this for them. Some of them even blessed us for doing this.

This is my experience that is very hard to put into words , as people in this situation was the last thing you expect to happen in London .

What we saw is the tip of the iceberg. We pray this we get strength & motivation to do  more frequently and help out were we can.

Food was vegetables rice, pasta . Samosa’s ,pizza , Parle biscuits small packets tea.

It was an eye opener for me and very emotional experience.

The food was served to about 180.00 people ….. few women and mostly men .

The Sevaks that did this seva were: Bena, Lekha, Savita and Bhanu.

Our gratitude to Savita and Jalaram Temple members for highlighting the plight  of the homeless in Ldn and giving us oportunity to do this seva. We should be thankful for what we have n are much better of then these destitute people who are without shelter and are un employed. We will realise their difficulties once we put our selves in their shoes; the least we could do was to  satisfy the hunger in their bellies. They need more but we are not in that position to provide for everything. We continuously send healing that their plight improves and they do not loose hope.

On Fri. 27th October, Bena, Savita, Bhanu, Seema, Ramesh, Chirag and Savita’s friend Renu, went to distribute food to the homeless at Charing Cross in central London. We joined up with volunteers from Jalaram Mandir who carried the food in large bags from North West london. There were  all adults, male and female; people from London of English origin, Eastern European, Many Africans, and Indian(brown skin) plus from West Indies who are in this country for a long time and are in need of daily meals. We distributed, bananas, bread rolls, pkts of Crisps, tubs of rice pudding , and apples. There were about between 150 to 180  people. We served them from 7pm onwards for one hour. There were 2 other well wisher groups who were also distributing in the same location nr William 4th street. The organisers have to take prior permission for  setting up distribution points on the open streets. This activity was part of our Seva for 12th anniversary celebration. Thanks.

The people who are made homeless is due to different reasons; some are unemployed, some are thrown out by their spouses or partners, some cannot pay rent, and some may have shelter but no money to buy food or a hot cup of coffee. The wife throws out husband because he doesn’t earn enough.!!

These people did not wish to have their photograph taken, so we respected their wishes ….
