Having practiced their Reiki 1 for the given period three ladies who came to Arama Lifestyle Home last month were now geared up to learn the Level 2 Reiki. The three women came in cheerful and excited to Arama on the 10th October and shared their experiences of Reiki with me. I was off course thrilled to hear of their practice and then commenced teaching them.

It was a nice combination of young and not so young but they were very good with their healing energies and that is what mattered. Gaining access to Reiki symbols was something new two of them whilst one of them remembered partially of the same having learnt many years ago. They loved the attunement and felt much empowered with the energies.

To my surprise one of the students Dhwani practiced her reiki 2 on someone the same evening as she visited her at the hospital and her healing made a noticeable difference to the patient. She saw the healee’s new born baby in an incubator and upon reaching back home she was self guided to do distance healing for the baby. The next morning on the 11th October as we continued the class she mentioned this experience.

Having learnt about doing distance healing Dhwani realized she had already done it perfectly well for the baby. However, she continued to practice distance healing for the same baby. Later in the day she was informed that her healing had had miraculous effect on the baby and the mother and that the baby didn’t need the incubator any more. They were discharged the next day. This experience made me extremely grateful as this was my debut at solo conducting a level 2 teaching. I thanked Reiki and the Universe and off course my guru Kamal Tolia for giving me this seva opportunity.

On the whole the session went very well. The eldest member in the group Veena had wonderful experience even after Level 1. She is now able to sleep well for up to seven hours at stretch without taking sleeping pills as compared to pre-reiki course when after having doubled the dosage of pills she couldn’t sleep more than 2-3 hours. My little success stories have helped me gain confidence in being a teacher.

12th Anniversary Seva No. 5

We had been invited to give a talk on Reiki and free Reiki healing to a group of elderly ladies of the Arya Samaj Community in Nairobi. One of the younger members of the community, Haseeta Jain and her team get these elderly ladies together every month to socialize, and learn something new!

It was at their get together at the home of Mrs Shashi Sharma, on 10th October that LHSG Sevaks Nalina, Pratima, Reeta and I met with the ladies, who were in their 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. A brief introduction to Reiki and its history was given. They all listened keenly, some even asked questions at the end. Later, I expounded on the healing benefits of Reiki.

We then proceeded with individual healing, first for the elderly ladies, then for the organisng team members. Every one of them loved the healing, some of them relaxing to the point of dozing off!

A surprise input came from one of the younger ladies, Shweta Bhalla, who had been trained to Reiki Level 2, very sweetly shared her feedback of how Reiki had made huge changes in her and her family’s life. A recording of this is posted below.

After having a lovely lunch courtesy of the team members, we took our leave, feeling once again, immense gratitude for the Universe for affording us yet another opportunity to follow our mission of spreading the awareness of Reiki, and sharing our love and light with all!

Today’s seva was a wonderful experience. We gave Reiki to about 12 elderly ladies who had all kinds of aches and pains. In addition we gave Reiki to 4 younger women who help these ladies and had put the whole event together for the older ladies. Everyone was very happy and received the reiki well. It was a very satisfying experience. Well and to top it all among these ladies was one of my primary school teachers whom I have not seen in over 40 years! It’s always wonderful to share our gift of Reiki with others. I am grateful!

12th Anniversary Seva No. 4

In keeping with our very own season of giving, LHSG’s Mumbai, India member Kirti carried out a Reiki Level 1 training camp for four people on 8th October. One of the trainees was Kirti’s own maid (house help), for whom Kirti went the extra mile by translating the manual from English to Hindi! Thank you dear Kirti for doing this! It will be very useful for future trainings in Hindi!

I had a chance of attuning 4 people for Reiki level 1 on 8th October at my place in mumbai. I had kept this class free but on a donation basis. There were 3 women (2 young girls and a lady – my maid) and a man, Nisha’s (lhsg whastapp member) husband.

We started at 12.15 pm and it went on very good. Introduction of Reiki went well with them.

I had translated the manual in Hindi which helped my maid understand each and everything and she was happy.

After the attunement, we had a break of tea/coffee and snacks and during that time we discussed what they felt during the attunement.

3 out of 4 felt something entering through their palms and filling their body with energy. One girl felt energy entering her body from her ajna chakra (forehead chakra) and she felt heavy there.

They practised Reiki on themselves first and then on each other. I also taught them protection.

Next I gave them 21 days homework of healing themselves as well as someone else and to note it down and report after 21 days, and also to send healing to Mother Earth daily.

I got Rs. 1601/- as donation which i shall give to a lady who feeds the stray dogs in our area.

12th Anniversary Celebrations Seva No. 3

Our lone Mumbai, India member Kirti Kamdar did this Reiki healing seva in a cnetre for terminally ill people ….. thank you Kirti for showing you care for these people …….

There is a charitable trust in Taloja, in Raigad district named Jyothis Charitable Trust for terminally ill patients. One of my school friend organises a visit to this place every year. This year it was on 1st October and I had visited along with 60 other people.

There were around 18 ladies who were residents there, out of which 8-9 were mentally challenged n needed too much attention.

I somehow felt too much sadness around. The residents were excited to see all of us. We had also got a small band with us who sang songs n we all danced with them, making them feel one of us and that they are not untouchables.

I asked one lady what illness she had and why she was there.

She said no illness but her brother got her admitted there and left. And she had tears in her eyes.

The trust is run by Nuns. My friend announced that I was there to give Reiki healing and anyone who wanted healing can approach me. It didn’t go well with the people there. Not even the sisters there.

I told them what it is all about but still no response.

From the people who went along with us, one lady said she knew about Reiki and wanted healing for overwork and stress. I gave her hands on healing and later she said she felt very good and energised again.

The lady singer of the band saw me doing healing and came to me saying she also done healing to people and that day she wanted as she was very exhausted and had some more songs to sing. So I gave healing to her as well and she was also happy.

One of the residents saw what I was doing but had no clue. She came to me and said “Mujhe aise sir pe kuchh karke do” (do something on my head like them). I sat her there on the chair and gave her healing. She was the one whose brother left her there despite no illness.

Then I was waiting to give healing but no one came. I spoke to some of the residents but no one was ready.

Then I gave healing to 2 of the residents and one other lady, all for stress.

I knew no one will come for healing so I sat there and sent healing for the surroundings with my mind as I felt the place was very depressing and isolated type.

I was really very sad by this visit as they all looked sad and I was thinking how can someone leave their own person at the mercy of someone else!
