On 23rd October Leigh Anderson and myself decided for one of the Sevas for our 12th Anniversary we shall offer Reiki to our knitting group.

Every Monday we go to a church hall and knit for the under privileged children and for children born of mothers in prison.

On that day we were about 9 ladies so I explained a little about Reiki . The ladies are aged from about 60 onwards the oldest being 89.

Then we both went around and explained what we were going to do, so six of the ladies were very willing.

Leigh and myself felt a real feeling of receiving and the ladies were very happy ….. all of them felt relaxed with one falling asleep on the chair.

When I asked for them to say something they were a bit hesitant with one lady called Edna who commented. She said she found the healing very soothing!

We have offered this seva again for anyone who wishes to receive it till the end of November.

Then on 25th October, Leigh Anderson and myself gave healing to a lady who has sores all over the body. The healing went on for 30 minutes leaving the lady sleeping for one hour.

When she woke up she said she could feel heat all over the body.

We have decided to give her the healing once a week till the end of November.

She did not want her name or pictures of her face shown.

Love ,light and laughter

Today 16th October, Manisha and I did our 12th Anniversary seva at SICW (orphanage). We gave touch healing to the kids and entire house staff including Alpana didi (Manager of the Orphanage). All had different stories to share about their life. They thanked us several times , as they have seen us doing healing on the kids but today we surprised them by asking them to come one by one to take healing.

Now that home has 35 kids and 14 worker staff to take care of them. Some of them asked to send healing for their families also. Giving them Reiki was very humbling …. We have enjoyed today a lot…… and after a long break we did seva at the orphanage, that’s a big thing for us. House staff worker were Mahadi Subba (a cancer survivor) Nasreen, Runa Sarker, Rani Begum, Sumitra Mohanto, Radhika, Kanchan Nusker, Anjali Mondol, Shipra Dey, Sayeeda, Akbar Kabir, Manju Mondal, Simpson Mahal and Alpana Kumar(In charge).

12th Anniversary Seva No. 7

We had a very touching but fruitful trip on the morning of 12th October to the Compassionate Hands Centre for the Disabled in Ruai.

We had taken 10kg of green lentils for them courtesy of Pratima, and Sheela and Cooky had brought clothes. Our guests Smita and Anjana Shah of Raja Trust and their friend Anjali had donated long life milk, white flour, porridge flour, beans, cooking fat and biscuits . . .

The tree planting went very well. As always, we planted them the spiritual way. We were joined by Smita and Anjana and their friend Anjali in this holy task of planting a tree. Thirteen Causerina trees (donated by Shariffa) were planted along one section of the boundary wall, and an avocado tree, a mango tree and a neem tree (donated by LHSG) were planted inside the compound.

The giving of Reiki to the cerebral palsy children followed next. As we approached the room in which the children were seated, we could hear their cries. The room had abt 50 children in wheelchairs and some were in the back of the room going through physiotherapy which was the painful part for them.

Each of us, including Shariffa’s driver Festo (who is a Reiki level 2 healer), gave Reiki to each child on the crown and heart chakras. Then we sent Reiki to all of them from a distance. As the Reiki proceeded, there was a palpable calm settling down in the room, and the cries were becoming less and less! So much so, that at the end of the healing session, as we clapped, the children copied us and started clapping too, and giving us hi fis!

Another seva completed, by the Grace if God, The Universe and Reiki.

Giving back to the environment and to Mother Earth and to the less fortunate members of our society, all at the same time!

The LHSG Sevaks that did this seva were Shariffa, Reeta, Pratima, Sheela, Cooky and I. Please read their accounts of the seva, and watch the slideshow and video that follow.

Thank you for your support.

LHSG together with friends of Raja Trust went to Ruai Compassionate Hands Centre in Ruai, Nairobi. This is run by Ann Njeri and well wishers.

Seva of food, Seva of planting trees, Seva of giving Reiki to trees and to the disabled children.

We were well received The food was ever welcome. Most Satisfying was to hear that the children are progressing. They are going to school. Getting medical care. Graduating. And practicing reiki. We are blessed

When we see these dear souls, so incapacitated we can feel pity and feel paralyzed.

When we as Reiki healers stand in our light we can reach out.

We gave reiki to this boy. He is so calm. He was crying desperately. Unable to communicate. Before his legs were bent. Look how they have improved. Ann of the Home gives them Reiki three times a week. Soon he will go to school.

As we gave Reiki the children calmed down. They gave high five and they clapped. Reiki magic.

We took our open heart of love and compassion and changed the energy.

My ? heart was heavy after we left the home. I consoled myself…it’s no one’s fault and no one is being punished. Their amazing disposition, strength and continued growth is a representation of the highest.

My hats off to all the staff…their patience…scary also beautiful and humbling …. and when undertaken with the trust in the almighty and faith in his decisions, it is a catalyst for spiritual evolution.

As everyone has expressed above, our morning at the children’s home in Ruai couldn’t have been more successful. Anne and her team have truly kept up their selfless service to all these children commendably. Our tree planting exercise was fulfilling to do especially after yesterday’s downpour. Then giving Reiki to the children was a humbling and gratifying experience as always. Grateful for the opportunity to improve the wellbeing of the children by doing what we do best…..spreading Reiki to one and all.

Having practiced their Reiki 1 for the given period three ladies who came to Arama Lifestyle Home last month were now geared up to learn the Level 2 Reiki. The three women came in cheerful and excited to Arama on the 10th October and shared their experiences of Reiki with me. I was off course thrilled to hear of their practice and then commenced teaching them.

It was a nice combination of young and not so young but they were very good with their healing energies and that is what mattered. Gaining access to Reiki symbols was something new two of them whilst one of them remembered partially of the same having learnt many years ago. They loved the attunement and felt much empowered with the energies.

To my surprise one of the students Dhwani practiced her reiki 2 on someone the same evening as she visited her at the hospital and her healing made a noticeable difference to the patient. She saw the healee’s new born baby in an incubator and upon reaching back home she was self guided to do distance healing for the baby. The next morning on the 11th October as we continued the class she mentioned this experience.

Having learnt about doing distance healing Dhwani realized she had already done it perfectly well for the baby. However, she continued to practice distance healing for the same baby. Later in the day she was informed that her healing had had miraculous effect on the baby and the mother and that the baby didn’t need the incubator any more. They were discharged the next day. This experience made me extremely grateful as this was my debut at solo conducting a level 2 teaching. I thanked Reiki and the Universe and off course my guru Kamal Tolia for giving me this seva opportunity.

On the whole the session went very well. The eldest member in the group Veena had wonderful experience even after Level 1. She is now able to sleep well for up to seven hours at stretch without taking sleeping pills as compared to pre-reiki course when after having doubled the dosage of pills she couldn’t sleep more than 2-3 hours. My little success stories have helped me gain confidence in being a teacher.
