Our mind often connects to something when we hear a particular name. On knowing that the girl whom I was meeting for the first time 1 ½ years ago was carrying the name Jamuna, I immediately thought of the holy river Jamuna in India.  But alas, this young girl Jamuna wasn’t flowing, it was as if everything about her had just stopped. A girl who couldn’t talk, walk, all she knew was to scream in pain and shout every minute out of fear that had seeped deep inside her mind. Her mind and each chakra looked so full of clutter …

Today (27.6.2016) when we went for our weekly Seva at the orphanage, we were jumping with joy seeing the remarkable progress in Jamuna. Its been one and a half years now that the entire family of Lotus Healing Seva group has been seeing Jamuna progressing. I’m so happy to announce that now she giggles, smiles, enjoys music, eats on her own, and is taking a keen interest in studying with younger children, is able to walk tiny steps with a walking frame and climb stairs. Gratitude to Reiki .

Never did I imagine she would recover so well . And I pay my utmost Gratitude to Reiki and our entire lotus healing group members who have been sending her distant healing. Tears flow out but they are of joy . The way she responds and smiles the moment she sees us. And I recall there was a time when we couldn’t even touch her.

I pledge you all to keep a clear vision and intention for Jamuna to be able to talk soon and become normal like any other girl.”

Seriously, only I know how I controlled my tears today … like how a mother feels when she sees her baby crawling or standing for the first time on his / her own ..

This is a privilege for us Kolkata LHSG members .. to see our beloved Jamuna so improved …

27th June2016, a day to remember, as we have seen our beloved Jamuna walking alone with a walker. We all have been giving distant and touch healing to her for last 18 months. When Jamuna saw us today she was smiling and anyone could make out from her face that she was very happy to see us There were a time when she was totally on bed, crying and howling with pain. The orphanage people in desperation asked us to do something as they got complaints from neighbors because of her.. And now her smiling face.. What a journey she has made, and we all are feeling proud of her as mothers.. Yes we all are her mother.. Continuous physiotherapy and our Love n light has made this miracle happen..its my privilege that I am sharing this with you all.. Love you Dear Jamuna.. Love you all..

Love n light

I met Jamuna for the first time in February 2015. I remember being scared to see her in such a condition.  She was completely bed ridden, screaming all the time with fear. …. It was then we continuously gave her hands on and distant Reiki and today I see a different Jamuna. Never expected that a day will came which will change Jamuna to such an extent…Our lovely girl has started walking, responding to talks, feeling safe and secured, sensing things around her, what else do I want for her….just Reiki and blessings and miracles are bound to happen. I am so so so happy for Jamuna and her improvement.  Thank you REIKI for these blessings.

Forgiveness Workshop for Cancer Patients

Lotus Healing Seva group members Kamal Tolia and Monica Gokaldas conducted the Ho’oponopono Forgiveness workshop on Thursday June 16th at Faraja Cancer Support Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. They were assisted by members Pratima, Shariffa, Niddhi and Laveena. The participants were mainly cancer patients, their care givers and a few staff of Faraja. This is the second time LHSG conducted this workshop, the last one having been done the year before.

Please read the accounts of the group members below and do watch the pictures at the end.

The day began early for some as they made an effort to reach Faraja Cancer Care by 9am. It was a cold but clear day which soon turned bright and sunny as if affected by the vibrancy of the workshop. Kamal, Pratima and I reached much ahead of time to organize for the workshop and to our pleasure we found Srinidhi and Laveena already present in their excitement to learn Ho’opono pono at the workshop.

We set up the highest Sacred Space and soon Shariffa was also with us to help out during the course of the day. After the brief introduction of the group and its members and other activities the workshop began with a discussion about Forgiveness. Kamal explained to the attendees who were mainly Cancer patients or survivors, their care givers and a few volunteers at Faraja that Ho’opono pono is a Hawaiian practice of forgiveness. She then went on to explain the necessity of taking the steps to asking for forgiveness and the art of forgiving those that may have hurt or harmed us in any way.

I took over from there to further talk about how our unforgiving behavior can lead to sickness and strained relationships and prevent our progress towards positivity in life. Although I had addressed bigger groups in the past, talking about Forgiveness and Reiki a few times at Faraja as well as other workshops with Kamal, this was my very first at partly conducting the workshop with her. Ho’opono pono is a subject very close to my heart after bearing positive effects on my health and relationships and of those who come to me for help. Hence, it was definitely the right topic for me to teach as I didn’t have to memorize from any manual and I spoke from my experience of it.

Kamal and I very comfortably filled in our teaching space alternately and conducted some exercises as well with the attendees who by end of the afternoon had numbered to a good 21. The participation from the new learners was very encouraging and they all had very valid questions to ask as well. To some extent, most of them had been wondering what one could learn in a forgiveness workshop because in lot of faiths Forgiveness is a practice commonly observed. Some of them revealed that they had been speaking the sentences of forgiveness as a mundane practice without actually feeling it or even understanding its essence and effects on our daily lives.

On the whole, the workshop went extremely well and everyone left very happy and lighter, giving us their energetic hugs and expressing gratitude which made us feel elated. Pratima was very helpful with registrations, organizing the refreshments at mid-morning, setting up and wrapping up the arrangement as well as with the sale of books and CDs. Shariffa Ji acted as our ambassador of the group by engaging in fruitful conversations and finding out how different situations with families needed Ho’opono pono to de-stress them. Srinidhi and Laveena though weren’t the volunteers of the day as they came to learn, were very helpful at various times by their timely input in arrangements and the break time assistance.

Finally, I express my immense gratitude to Kamal Tolia who gave me this opportunity to co-conduct the workshop with her. This workshop was very special in another way as it taught me a lesson of commitment and perseverance. Kamal who had had a fall the night before the workshop was injured and in acute pain and partly disoriented due to the pain and discomfort in movement and hadn’t been able to sleep the whole night insisted in going ahead with the teaching. I salute her determination at not letting any hindrance block her path to Seva.

The Ho’oponopono workshop was a great experience. All who had come were very interested and enjoyed and were happy. Even though Kamal Aunty was not well she  along with Monicaji explained so well that it touched hearts with examples which were easy to understand. I am grateful to be a part of Louts healing Seva group.

On 16th  June, I attended the Ho’oponopono workshop by Kamal Tolia. We were about 20 people who had come to learn the art of asking for forgiveness. This was truly an enlightening workshop for everybody. There is a positive shift in myself. It was really an amazing experience. After I completed the workshop, I was at peace joyful. I’m sure this workshop will be beneficial for all those who attended it. Our guru Kamal aunty always inspires us beyond words. Despite the injury and pain, she kept the commitment of conducting the workshop. I’m grateful to kamal aunty for giving the opportunity to attend this life changing workshop. Certainly, this workshop will help improving many relationships.

Ho’opono opono was a wonderful session conducted by Kamal ji. It made me realise how easily we can change the premise from where we work to get fantastic results, peace of mind and improved relationships…

This course also teaches us the importance of letting go and how holding on will hurt oneself and can lead to chronic diseases.

Thank you for letting me attend the same.

I made  friends with two  of the Cancer care givers at Faraja. The lady in pink on my right and Peter by my feet. They wanted to understand death of a younger sibling. This was after Kamalji, our trainer explained forgiveness for those who have passed on. Both had broken down as she spoke. After the session we did a role play. I was the sibling. They were passing on, Christ’s energy was with them as they journeyed on, light was everywhere.

I asked ‘ How do you want me to feel? Left here in the world?’

Simultaneously they said ‘we want you to be happy. We are in heaven.’

We hugged and felt in our hearts the relief of being able to forgive the ones who have gone ahead.

Love ourselves, too, who are here. Who can feel lighter for having let go and come into love.

Kamalji had given us a tool to see it with different eyes.

We all left Faraja lighter in the knowledge that ‘yes’ we can forgive those who have passed on. Their path and ours is now lit up.

Lotus Healing Seva Group Completes a Century!

The Reiki level 2 camp at Faraja cancer center was a very special camp as it was Lotus Healing Sewa Group ‘s 100th camp !! We were super thrilled !

Punita and I had 12 cancer patients /carers who were very excited to go to the next level! They said that they have been healing themselves and could actually see how it is helping them immensely! One of them, a cancer patient, who had lost his hearing due to the cancer medications, actually reported that his hearing was coming back! Another cancer patient said how happy she was because she did not get tired on her recent travels, which was not the case before she learned Reiki!

They were very happy with the camp and promised to heal themselves and others! Besides learning to send distant healing they also learnt the importance of Sewa (unconditional service to others), the power of healing in numbers (group healing) and Sewa for Mother Earth!

It was a beautiful experience and my heart was full of gratitude, peace and joy -which only Sewa can bring! !

Love and light!
