For the fourth year running, Lotus Healing Seva Group held a Reiki Level 2 camp (workshop). The venue this time was the Ram Mandir Hall.
Nineteen women and 4 girls came to be attuned to the beautiful energy of Reiki Level 2. At about 9.15 am, to the vibrations of the ringing Temple bells in the background, the event started. After sharing their experiences while doing Reiki on themselves and others, the people settled down to drawing the symbols and learning their names. The attunement followed, then the practice on themselves and after lunch, they learned to send distant Reiki healing, how to heal using a pillow, healing relationships, healing souls, programming Reiki and creating a Reiki box.
Just before closing, they were introduced to the tremendous power of Group healing as they ‘Group Healed’ the earth.
Finally, at about 4 pm, tired but elated, they left with their certificates, a blessed rose and blessed water, all determined to go to the next Level 3A at the end of March.
The Lotus Healing Seva Youth Group started the New Year by going to a place which housed two orphanages: Morning Stars Orphanage and Sunshine Orphanage in Kiambu donate foodstuff, to play with the children there, and to give them Reiki Healing. Here are their stories.
Viddhi Patel, 9yrs (Reiki Level 2)
I had taken 5 loaves of ‘Hot Loaf’ bread for the orphans. I felt nice throughout the time I was shown around the orphanage by two of the orphans whose names were Jane and Margaret.
We saw the rabbits, the cow, and the dog, the hall where they ate their meals and the kitchen.
The children played a game ‘I sent a letter to my father …..’. their reaction was very nice and beautiful.
I gave them Reiki Healing as they sat at a table. It was very nice for them and for me as well.
Janvi Shah 10yrs. (Reiki Level 1)
We went on Sunday 9th to Kiambu to an orphanage called Sunshine Orphange. When we reached there the orphan children welcomed us by singing a song.
After that we gave them the stuff we had bought for them. I had taken bread, butter and flour for them.
When I saw how they were staying, I thought that we should go again and give them some more food, clothes etc.
Jay Shah 12 years (Reiki Level 1)
On Sunday January 9th, we went to and orphanage called Sunshine Home. I donated biscuits and milk. They welcomed us nicely.
I felt their life was hard.
We gave all the kids Reiki and blessed them.
They sang a song for us and when we were leaving they told us to come again.
Bhavik Kumbharana 12 yrs (Reiki Level 3A)
I enjoyed very much when we went to morning Stars Orphanage on 9th January. I took 24 kgs of maizemeal for them.
When I reached there, I felt so sorry for them because they have no parents. What I liked about them is the way they all came out to greet everyone (the Lotus Healing Seva Youth Group).
They told me their names, there were so many, I have forgotten their all their names, but I didn’t forget their faces.
They took me all over the orphanage, to the farms, wells, sheds, etc.
When they were all playing the game ‘I sent a letter to my father …’, I also felt like playing with them.
When I gave them Reiki healing, they also started praying. Lastly, they all said they felt very good.
Aleena Rupani 12 years ( Reiki Level 2)
I had a lot of fun during the trip to the orphanage; spending time with the children was a very nice experience. I noticed that there was not one of them wasn’t smiling!
During the trip each one of us had to pick a partner, I didn’t know who to pick but a young girl who was about five years old grabbed my hand and started showing me around. Her name was Sarah and she was such a sweet girl!
I thought the place was quite nice, they all had their own beds and they all had many friends. They all ate together and did almost everything together. It was like one very big family! Which I thought was very nice!
The girls and boys slept in different places. There were about three rooms that I remember for the girls, they were all of different sizes. There was one big room where most of the girls slept, there was one other room for the small children and another for the high school girls who only came for a while and went back to school. They had a lot rabbits that were very cute and a few boys were the ones who train and breed them. They had one big dining room with a painting at the end saying ‘Morning Stars’.
I gave them a couple of clothes and a lot of green gram.
When they finished showing us around there we showed them a game and left them to play it. they were having so much fun and all of them were enjoying themselves.
We gave Reiki healing to the children. They took a lot of healing. I was happy to give them Reiki because they are such nice children and I know they need it. I would love to visit them again soon.
Harleen Golkaldas 15 years
On 9th January, the Lotus Healing Seva Youth Group went to the Morning Stars Orphanage.
We left at about 9 o’clock in the morning so that we could reach there on time.
I took some clothes and 50 kg of rice.
Once there, we gave our donations and got a partner from the orphanage to show us their place. We were taken to the girls and boys rooms, the dining area, their farm and the best part was when they showed us their really huge rabbits!
After looking around the place, we played ‘I Sent a Letter’ with the children over there, and it was really fun to watch them play it. After that, the youth group, along with Kamal aunty, and some of the members from the adult group joined in on giving healing to the kids in the orphanage, the whole orphanage and to the animals and the people who run the orphanage as well.
It felt really nice to go to the orphanage and see the lives these kids live, as I take it to be a constant reminder to appreciate and accept what I have from my heart, and this lets me know that life is not always easy.
It was a really fun experience, and I hope that we will get another chance to do something like this again.
Lotus Healing Seva Group (Kenya) brightened up the life of the inmates of the old peoples’ home in the Runda suburb of Nairobi, just before Christmas 2010.
Goods worth Sh 15 000/= were donated. LHSG (sat) member Dipti Shah and new Saturday member Zabeen Khan very kindly gave up their Sunday morning to deliver the following items to the home:
10 plastic / rubber sheets (mattress protectors), 20 pairs of shoes (much needed by the people), some Omo detergent powder, bars of soap, and some salt.
Needless to say, the old people were very happy and grateful to receive the items and they blessed LHSG many times!
The Lotus Healing Seva Group UK, decided to do Reiki Seva on 21st November, which is also UK’s International Sewa Day. It also happened to be Kartik Poonam, a special day for the Jains, who came to do prayers at the centre. The LHSG members offered Free Reiki Healings to them.

The event was organised by Dipenbhai, Treasurer, Oshwal Association of the UK – North West Area
We were given two good sized rooms to heal in and a large foyer where we had put up posters and our LHSG banner.
Kartik poonam is a very important date for Jains and they held puja and bhajans at the Oshwa Centre on that Sunday: they had some 200 people participating in the puja that morning so we counted ourselves very fortunate for being invited to discuss healing, participate in the puja and heal the crowd.
We gave healing to about 80 people from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm. They were a mix of men and women, all over the age of 50: about 20 men and 60 women.
They all had different experiences ranging from feeling relaxed to aches and pains disappearing! There was one lady who saw lots of coloured lights after her healing session; one of the men had had a broken shoulder and he felt pain free for the first time in 3 months! A lot of the people felt very relaxed after their healing sessions with beautiful glowing faces quite apparent!
And what did the LHSG members feel? All felt they had a wonderfully productive day and I know that I felt a great sense of achievement and fulfillment at being able to be part of this seva. We all felt uplifted and buzzing with energy; sorry to see the last of the crowds when the day ended. We could have carried on for a lot longer but unfortunately the session had to be brought to an end as the Centre had to be prepared for another function.
