Reiki Level 3A Camp

11 April 2010

Twenty three Reiki healers completed this level of Reiki. Once again, the camp was held at the Navnat Mahajan Hall in Nairobi.

The participants showed their commitment yet again by giving up their Sunday to further their journey in Reiki. They consisted of all ages, the youngest being 11 years old and the oldest 67 years old! One young lady had been up the whole night before in a go kart rally for charity, and still turned up bright and ready for the workshop at 9 am. Kudos to her for her determination!

Many were their healing experiences: sorting out issues at work, A Reiki Ball growing automatically between the hands and leaving to go to a passing lady who looked ill, a cancer patient who was healed of poor digestion completely! And many more ………..

All were attuned to the Symbols in the class. They had fun clearing each others’ auras ….. some were so enthusiastic that they accompanied the movements with audio effects!

The LHSG members that did seva on this day were: Punita, Tejal, Yatinder, and from the LHS(Y)G they were Karishma and Anoushka. Prafulla did seva for a couple of hours. Many thanks go to LHSG sevaks Ranjan, Hema, Harsha, and Naila who inspite of being students on that day, very willingly brought the tea and refreshments for all. And a very special thank you to Tejal’s mother and family for providing the sevaks with a lovely hot lunch for all our three Reiki camps!

Visit to Amani Ya Juu

Amani Ya Juu is Kiswahili for ‘Peace from Above’
This is an organization that employs women from the slums in Kenya to make beaded jewellery and stitch beautiful aprons, bags, oven gloves and the like. Some of them were refugees from neighboring countries: Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and even Ruanda. The proceeds collected from the sale of these articles are used to pay the women employees’ salaries and run the organization.

On 15th March, on behalf of LHSG, 6 members: Angela, Ayala, Nalina, Monica, Punita and Kamal donated 80 umbrellas and blankets to the women workers. These were timely gifts, as the rains had started and the weather had started to turn cold. The women were extremely grateful. They gave us a lovely welcome, even sang some lovely gratitude songs. We were moved by their warmth and humbled by their contentment and absolute belief in God despite their hardships.

Goodbye to a dear Friend

February 25 was a tragic day for the Lotus Healing Seva Group family for it saw the passing over of Jyoti Patel. She succumbed to cancer, leaving behind a husband, son and daughter.

Jyoti was a founder member of the LHSG. Her sincere efforts, active participation, and excellent ideas right from the group’s inception through to the 4 years it had been in existence were instrumental in shaping what Lotus Healing Seva Group is today, an international network of healers.

Jyoti gave of herself selflessly to all who came to know her. She was always there with a listening ear, a helping hand and a loving heart. She shared her Love and Light with us here in Kenya, and in October 2009, migrated to the UK, to take up membership in our London Branch. But alas, it was not to be, for she soon fell ill.

Farewell dear friend, your presence is greatly missed. But even as we shed tears, we know you are in a better place and we are grateful for the time we had with you on this earthly plane.

Go with our Love and Light, dear Jyoti.

We wish you Joy, Freedom, and above all, everlasting Peace!

Aum Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

Reiki Level 2 Camp – Nairobi

LHSG Kenya held its 3rd Reiki Level 2 camp (workshop) in the spacious hall of the Shree Navnat Vanik Mahajan in Nairobi

Twenty Four Reiki level 1 practitioners from the Nov 2009 Free Reiki camp turned up on 27th April to further their healing journey into Level 2. They had moving experiences to share: giving Reiki to a dying kitten, healing a very sick father, gaining confidence in speaking in front of crowds, being calmer, less angry, asthma healed, aches and pains gone.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as they settled down to familiarizing themselves with the symbols, and receiving the attunement. All went away amazed with the ‘power in their hands’ to send healing to people not present, i e distant healing and to heal the past, present and future!!

Special commendations go to the 11 -13 year old children Ashvi, Bhavik, Brij, Simran and Kunali who have embarked on this Reiki journey at this young age!

The LHSG members that helped in this workshop were: Prafulla, Laxmi, Punita, Monica, Yatinder, Tejal, Fhanreet and Kamal.
