Visit to Lions Sight First Hospital

Through Prafulla, (LHSG, Kenya), the members were invited by the Lion’s Sight First Hospital to visit their hospital in Loresho on 9th Oct. 2010.

Form 10 am till 11.15, we were shown by the Administrator Mr Ndegwa around all parts of the hospital. We learned about the beautiful humanitarian work done by the hospital. They sent out their vans to the surrounding areas to bring the poor that had needed cataract surgeries. Each patient together with one family member was given accommodation and food for three days at the hospital, completely free of charge. The surgery too, was completely free. After three days, the patient and the family member were transported back to their homes, with full instructions reference removal of the bandages, and medicines.

The centre also had an ENT, Dental and Kidney Dialysis Unit and general medicine clinics. We weren’t allowed to take out pictures in the hospital, but we did take some out in the board room.

All in all it was an eye opening visit for us. We donated Sh 21000/= and some spectacle frames to this worthy cause

The Five Laws of the Universe

Talk on the Five Laws of the universe for Health and Happiness

Through Malti (LHSG, Kenya), Kamal Tolia was invited by the Oshwal Library Committee to give a Talk on the Five Laws of the Universe.

The talk took place on 27th September 2010 in the spacious library hall. It was attended by about 80 keenly attentive ladies. They listened well to the five Universal laws of Thought, Choice and Accountability, Cause and Effect, Abundance and Gratitude, Harmony and Rhythm, and learned how to apply them to their lives.

The talk was followed by a five minute meditation of ‘Who Am I? … I am a Part of God,’ from Kamal’s ‘I Am’ cd, after which they wrote down a few positive affirmations about themselves, eg. I Am Love, I Am Kindness, I Am Forgiveness,  I Am Light, etc. They were asked to repeat each of these affirmations 3 times  before going to bed at night, to make a difference in their lives.

Many Thanks go to the Oshwal Library Chairlady Renu Shah for giving Kamal Tolia this opportunity to give the talk and to the Oshwal Library committee members for their support in organizing and advertising this event.

My visit to the Vet

On Wednesday, 22nd September 2010, I went to visit the vet to heal the animals over there. I went with Kamal Aunty, and my mum, Monica Gokaldas

I managed to give healing to four animals: three dogs and one cat. All the animals I healed were big, so, unfortunately, I could not hold them.

The animals and their problems:

  • A big, brown and black, male dog named Speckles, who had a broken leg as he had been over by a car. When he came, he was really shaking and even took a lot of healing. While sending him healing, I noticed that he had stopped shaking, and I could sense that he was a lot calmer. This showed that Reiki had an effect on the animal too.
  • Next was Laila, a black and white female dog who had a snake bite on her shoulder. She however did not take a lot, as she was nearly healed, and she was also very calm while receiving the healing.
  • After that, I got to heal a slightly smaller black and brown dog with scabies on his face. This dog also took a lot of healing, and I could tell that he was slightly nervous before receiving the Reiki energy, and responded well to it as it calmed down quickly.
  • Lastly, I got to heal a big, white, female cat. The vet had already said that this cat was already healed, but we gave her healing anyway, and found that she really did not need a lot of healing. She was a very healthy cat!

From this experience, I have realised that apart from human beings, animals can also benefit from Reiki, and can work wonders for our very dear pets, and fellow animal brothers. This was a very enjoyable and pleasant experience, and I would definitely not mind doing it again. I just wish that I got to hold some of the animals, but they were just too big……..I guess that is what a next time is for…..to get wishes fulfilled!

Reiki Seva Oshwal Centre UK

The LHSG (UK) was invited by The Oshwal (UK) committee to do Seva of giving Reiki to the public on their annual ‘Kite Flying’ mela (festival).

The day dawned bright and clear, thank God, (weather is very important in Britain!) assuring us of good numbers on that day. Bina, (Leader of LHSG UK)), Neha, Indu, Bharti, Hansamasi, Manojbhai, and Kamal set up their Reiki room, put up the LHSG banner at the entrance, and waited excitedly for people to walk into their healing chamber.

Nothing happened for a while. People seemed more interested (understandably) in flying their kites and enjoying the fresh air and good weather on the grounds.

But then Indu had a brilliant idea. She, Neha and Bharti went out on the grounds and personally started talking to the people about Reiki and inviting them for the free healing. And that did it! They came in a steady stream after that! All willingly paid the fee of UK pd 3 (some gave even more than that), and went away feeling relaxed, some of them even pain free!

From 10 am to 4 pm, the Group did this Seva. By the end of the day we had treated more than 50 people!

Kudos to Hansaben who despite her 75 years continued healing one client after another, stopping only for half an hour for lunch!

Thanks to Dipen Shah, Treasurer, Oshwal Committee UK, who made this event for LHSG possible.

The 200 pounds collected were used to buy sacks of Sugar and Rice to feed the poor (more than 900) that come to the Jalaram Temple in Nairobi every day. On behalf of the UK group, the Kenya Group helped in serving the poor on Thursday 16th Sept. 2010.
