And we also have a small video of Anne Njeri of Compassionate Hands Centre for the disabled in Ruai, Nairobi, Kenya. Anne is extremely grateful for the Reiki training we gave to her, the workers at the centre, and to some of the more able children. Anne speaks of how much Reiki has helped the children, helped her as well, and adds that there are more people as well as some children waiting to learn.

LHSG is on the roll … ten days after finishing the first 12th Anniversay seva, we were at the Talia Aglers Girls Shelter teaching Reiki Level 1 to the girls and workers there. This is a shelter for abused, abandoned, trafficked and exploited girls. Nalina Roopani and Mamta Advani, both LHSG Kenya, conducted this Reiki camp. ” We were supposed to do 18 yesterday, but we had 23, because some of the older gilrs decided to do level 1 again, and 3 of the staff, the caretaker and the people in the kitchen also joined in, it was very good …. So except for the teacher, all of them learned … and they were all very happy …. It was sad for us to see that the children this time were very small girls …. from the age group of 10, 12 …even 8 years old …. Normally we used to have an older group of 15 – 20 year olds and one or two would be small …. This time most of them were these small little girls …. And 2 of them, about 15 years old, were with small babies, and they did the whole course, were with their babies all the time ….feeding them and learning as well … one of them was raped by the rebels in Congo. For a month she was locked up and raped … and that was her baby ….. and another one was raped by the father …. So it was sad because the organisers of the girls shelter said it’s becoming more common that a family member was abusing the girls … either the father or uncle … a very sad state … so they really needed the healing and they were very good with it … because when we would ask them … have you finished … and they would say NO …. They did the self-healing v well, and the partner healing went very well too … the mothers would hold their babies as other girls did the healing on them … then the other girls would hold the babies while the Mums did the healing on them … so they did the whole course very nicely ….
They loved the lunch of Vegetable pullao, roast potatoes and cabbage which had been sponsored by LHSG ….. And all of them wanted to go on to Reiki Level 2 which we promised we would teach them a month later …. ”
It was just a week ago that LHSG gave a talk on Reiki at the Arama Lifestyle Home catering towards the recreational needs of the elderly of our society. Having heard Kamal Tolia’s talk about Reiki on the 9th September three ladies were very curious to learn this art of healing. Hence we commenced our 12th Anniversary Celebrations by offering this seva of teaching them on September 15th and 16th during the morning hours.
It was my pleasure to be conducting this as my first solo camp as besides it being a beginner to our list of Anniversary sevas it also became my dedication to my late parents this being the Hindu period of Shraadh when we do charity in the name of ancestors.
The three women reacted very well to the nearly acquired knowledge and turned out to be lovely healers post the attunement to Level 1 Reiki. I wasn’t surprised to see them grasp it so well and move from one reiki position to another using their own wisdom from the word go. I felt very grateful at being given this opportunity as I had strongly felt the need to spread Reiki at Arama since the day I heard if this facility being ventured into by two young entrepreneurs Shruti Shah and Neha.
The next morning they all came very cheerful describing their experiences having practiced Reiki at home. They were comfortable practicing giving reiki to others during the session and felt a noticeable change with the healing Energy.

A couple of years ago, we taught Reiki to Anne Njeri the founder of Compassionate Hands Centrefor the disabled in Ruia, Kenya, and to the workers and carers and some of the more able children. 2. Ramkrishna came to our stand in a wheelchair at the Stawisha Maisha exhibition held in May in Nairobi. After a Reiki treatment given to him by LHSG’s member Balvinder Dhadialla, he expressed a wish to walk, which he did, much to the astonishment of all! His care giver declared that he was now walking with much more confidence, and without shuffling his feet! 3. This lady has diabetes. She came to receive Reiki LHSG’s stand at the Stawisha Maisha exhibition held in May in Nairobi. She had an open sore on her leg which was oozing. After the Reiki treatment, the oozing had stopped and the wound was beginning to heal! She was v grateful. Please watch her video as she describes how Reiki worked for her after only one treatment!
This young man was only 15 years old when he became a victim of the Terrorists attack at Nairobi’s Westgate shopping Mall a few years ago. He suffered bullet wounds to his arms and legs and lots of grenade bits and bullet bits all over his body. LHSG members used to to to give him weekly Reiki healing for the 6 weeks he was in the hospital and later for 2 months when he was recovering at home. Now, 3 years later, completely healed in his whole body, Bhavya is working at a software company, he came up to us at the exhibition to thank us. Please watch his video.
5. Lotus Healing Seva Group gives weekly seva Reiki sessions to the residents and workers of Ashram, an old peoples home in Nairobi. Please watch the video of Nutan, the Homes’ Cook, as she describesin Gujarati, how the Reiki treatments have helped her, and expresses her gratitude.
6. Dolly is one of the earliest residenst of the Ashram. She has a number of illnesses, epilepsy being one of them and is not very communicative. After receiving a few sessions of Reiki, Dolly feels comfortable singing the Hindu Arti with LHSG’s Member Pratima Dutt!
