LHSG UK 11th Anniversary Celebration Seva No. 1!

Our LHSG UK Members …… Celebrate in Nature! Do read Mala’s Report below and see the pictures that follow …..

We carried out the 11th anniversary Sewa today, 24th Septenber 2016 at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome

This is a beautiful location with 3 Lakes and a huge variety of vegetation.

There were 11 of us in the group; Bena, Neha,  Bharti, Bhanu, Anita, Bina, Vilas, Mala, Mona, Indu and Surbhi. We began the event with a silent meditative walk, observing everything and appreciating the beauty all around us!

We stopped at the first lake ‘opening’ where we then poured the healed water from our individual bottles  into the lake, chanting ‘aum’ as we did so ,

There was a great sense of peace and tranquility all around us after we finished doing this.

We then walked on further in silence till we came to an area where there were ducks and swans; we fed them nuts, seeds and corn , which we had previously given healing to.

We then walked further in serenity until we came close to the water and some benches, we sat together and chanted 3 Aums; as we did so, the water splashed in waves 3 times towards us as if, also saying I AM!!

We did the ‘order of healing’ together. We all noticed how strong and effective the healing was outdoors!

We pledged our individual commitments for the year and also a collective cause to send healing to.

It was a very rewarding and uplifting experience all around.

We then went and had a wonderful picnic in the designated picnic area; another beautiful experience

Aum Shanti

The date 11th September brings to mind the terrorist attack over 15 years ago in New York City. The LHSG has altered the sad memories with pleasant ones by holding a free for all Reiki Morning at the HCK, Nairobi on the same date this year. This was the first event of the series of events to be conducted in celebration of 11 years of the existence of the group. Incidentally 11 years ago 9 initiates of Kamal Tolia joined hands with her to commence the group.

It was a slightly cold Sunday morning as members starting pouring in at the venue for healing as early as 8am. With some initial set up in the main hall the group was met with a few officials of the Hindu Council of Kenya Committee as well as the Chairman Mr. Nitin Malde. The Chief Guest Mr. R.K.D. Shah who is a trustee of HCK since nearly eight years inaugurated the Free Reiki For All event by lighting the lamp and cutting the ribbon. He was then formally introduced by Mr. Nitin Malde and told about LHSG activities by Kamal Tolia who presented him with her book titled Soul Reflections.

Mr. Shah and Mr. Malde became our first healees and thoroughly enjoyed the hands on healing experience. We began healing and by 1.30 pm we had given healing to 62 people, mainly consisting of the elderly. The registrations were very efficiently handled by the members of Religious and Cultural Department of HCK under the leadership of Mrs. Sujata Kotamraju. Some people had registered in advance as per their preferred time slots for the sessions.

It was amazing to see how smoothly the LHSG members were assisting each other in healing. The HCK members Sujata Kotamraju, Kalpana Kumar, Kamla Fatania, Rekha Kochhar, Kumar Seth, Shweta Bhalla, Vijay Palabandla, Aruna Karey and Divya also experienced the Reiki Healing. We had some free time for about 15-20 minutes during which we sat in a circle of love and did some collective group healing for the LHSG members.

It was very heartening to see people feel so relaxed with the healing they had received. Some of them simply decided to sit down and grasp in the energies after the treatment. Some felt a motherly touch, some felt very loved and special with 3-4 healers placing hands on them, some felt uplifted while some were exhilarated. A large number of people expressed their desire for learning Reiki. Some of them wrote down their healing requests as well.

On the whole it was a very fulfilling and busy morning as we had a mixed crowd of people representing various member institutions registered under the Hindu Council of Kenya.

Our anniversary celebrations at Hindu council was a beautiful Sunday of SEWA! I was thrilled at people ‘s comments after the Reiki session . One gentleman said that “it was a magical experience!!” While another said
after many years he felt his mother ‘s presence while receiving Reiki!
It was wonderful to see everyone so happy and relaxed and the positive feedback was definitely heart warming!

As we arrived at the Hindu Council for Kenya, Kamalji set up the sacred space. We could feel the energy of the room change.

We had now entered a space that was one of unconditional giving. The space between the giver and receiver became seem less.  It was as though we were giving and receiving at the same time .

For those who could not come up the stairs, we moved into the garden. One of the recipients who was a singer and had lost her voice, felt so energised, she spontaneously began to sing. She  was singing from her heart. She said she would give herself reiki every day.

It was a very humbling experience to see the people leaving having the will now to know that healing was indeed in their hands.

One of the most caring and supportive experience was as we sat in a circle and healed each other. It was as though caring, loving and healing hands were upholding us.

Thank you LHSG for another memorable experience, so well organised.

I felt the gentleness of all the people who came for Reiki healing on Sunday. They came trickling in accepting the Reiki energy with appreciation !! The one lady I remember had multiple illnesses, had heard of Reiki but never experienced it. This was her first trial and after talking to her, she seemed convinced that Reiki was the answer to all her ailments. She signed up for wanting to learn but more so that for one month we were going to send her healing and that she would get better!! Her parting words were “I feel I will get better yes ?”

I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity of Seva.

More than giving,  it was a gaining experience when one of the healee expressed that he felt the healing touched his soul and that he was mentally and emotionally disturbed before the session and suddenly all his tension eased up.

Another elderly lady, fell asleep. When we stopped,  and the time of feedback, she requested for more healing to certain body aches, as she said her back pain got a big relief and expressed that she would be looking forward to our camps always!!

Thank you Kamalji for letting me see this joy in many souls,   nothing can buy this gratified experience!!

My experience of 11th September seva at Hindu Council was wonderful. I was getting lovely comments and lots of blessings from people whom I gave reiki. They were very happy and relaxed after the session. It was great experience for me as I was peaceful and energetic the whole day. My immense gratitude to Kamal aunty and the universe for giving me this opportunity to do seva and I wish to get more such opportunities in future.

LHSG Gives Warmth To Orphaned and Abandoned Children

LHSG has been associated with The Makimei Children’s Home for orphaned and abandoned children since the last few months. A couple of months ago, we taught the management and workers Reiki, followed by a Reiki camp for the children 2 weeks ago.

Our member Srinidhi has been in touch with Mama Margaret and Rachel of the home.

Following requests from the home to send Reiki to their babies and children …. Srinidhi called them up …. “I was discussing with Rachel on the increase in the number of pneumonia cases at Makimei children home and she mentioned that it is extremely cold there and they would need 27 more blankets… “

Srinidhi continues … ‘My husband Bharat Rao and I went on to check with a wholesaler Mr. Shah of Blatex Company for the superior quality blanket  60x 90 size with satin tape on both sides., but then later we settled for a 70 × 90 size blanket. We thought it would be better to give them the bigger size such that they can double it up when it is too cold. ……..’

And so it is that on Saturday 3rd September, Srinidhai and Bharat Rao went to the home to donate the blankets and to give the new Reiki Healers (children) their Reiki certificates.

A Thank you from LHSG to members Priya, Srinidhi, Anuradha, Pratima and to Bharat Rao for their generosity in contributing to the cost of the blankets which was Sh 25,500/= (approx.. US $ 255) and a big thank you to Srinidhi for seeing this through!
