Reiki Camps for Adults

Once again, Mukuru Outreach Centre was the venue for 2 Reiki camps done by Lotus Healing Seva Kenya Group. This happened on 25th June 2015.

We conducted 2 Reiki Camps simultaneously (in separate rooms) … Reiki 1 for 24 adults and Reiki 2 for 6 adults. These people aged 18 – 52 years are students in the Computer learning course and Tailoring course being taught at the centre.

LHSG Sevaks Mamta, Nuri, Neena, Pooja, Sheela, Cooky and Kamal reached the centre at 9.45 am. Mamta and Sheela carried out the Reiki 2 training, Kamal, Cooky, Nuri, Neena, Pooja did the Reiki 1 training. We finished by 3 pm.

Lunch of Vegetable Burgers and Samosas was served half way through the training.

The Level 1 people are now certified Reiki Healers. They were very happy with the new knowledge and new power in their Hands! Some of them had come in with stress, aches and pains in various parts of the body, which all vanished before the end of the training! They were asked to start giving Reiki to family, friends and relatives rightaway!

The Reiki Level 2 people also had their moments of joy and wonder. They were introduced to the realm of Distant Healing for issues like illnesses, mending relationships, healing the Earth, etc. Already one of them, who had a very painful, injured finger, reported the next day she did not have to get medical help for it … it healed with the Reiki sent by the other learners!

And so it is that Lotus Healing Seva Group continues to empower the disadvantaged people with the beautiful Healing Power of Reiki.

This brings to 71 the total number of Reiki Camps we have had since 2007, in which we have empowered 1759 people with the healing power of different levels of Reiki!

And counting …….

Reiki Seva and Yoga!

A Talk on Reiki, Reiki treatments for the public, and Yoga in the open air! This was the menu on the cards for Lotus Healing Seva Kenya group on International Yoga Day 21st June 2015.

LHSG Sevaks Tejal, Vaishali, Mamta, Yatinder, Lata, Monica, Grace, Pratima and Kamal were at the Nairobi University Grounds bright and early at 8.15 am, all ready to do their seva.

We were given desk space in a tent to be shared with other philanthropist organizations. Lata and Grace started giving Reiki to two ladies, but within minutes we had more than 6 people lining up for the free healing and Monica and Pratima joined in the healing of the public. The crowd in our corner of the tent grew and grew, creating a bottle neck in the flow of the public. The organizers then came over to us and asked us to shift across the field where they gave an entire tent to LHSG!

In the meantime, Kamal gave an introductory talk on Reiki to an audience of approximately 100 people in another tent. With Tejal and Vaishali demonstrating, the audience placed their hands on the chakras on their body. The physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits of Reiki were expounded upon. Then Tejal and Vaishali demonstrated on two ladies in the audience how a Reiki treatment is given. And even in the short couple of minutes that Tejal placed her hands on the lady’s chakras, she reported feeling calm and in a meditative state and joyful and at peace! Such is the power of the Reiki that Tejal channelled!

Going back to the Reiki healing tent, the queues continued right up to 10.45. In the 2 hours we gave Reiki mini treatments to more than 120 people! And when we were asked to stop and proceed on to the field for Yoga, we had to leave many disappointed people in the queue which had only grown bigger in the 2 hours!

We then set out onto the field and took part in the wonderful Yoga session for the next hour.

A big thank you to Tejal who promoted Reiki and Lotus Healing Seva Group to Mayur Shir and the organizers of the International Yoga Day and to Mayur Shir for having included us in the events.

Many many thanks go to Monica Gokaldas for taking out the photos and videos.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

By Monica Gokaldas

Being part of an International Event is a great achievement in itself.

I am glad I along with my colleagues at Lotus Healing Seva Group was able to participate in the event held in Nairobi, Kenya by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangha under the umbrella of Hindu Council of Kenya.

The event that was scheduled to commence at 9am on the morning of 21st June’15 at the vast expanse on the fields of The University of Nairobi Campus began very much in time and we could see huge queues of people waiting for the gates to be opened as early as 8am when our team from LHSG arrived there.

As suggested by Kamal, we (LHSG) did not wait to register ourselves as our names had already been given to the organizing committee. By the time Mamta and Kamal organized for the presentation, Lata, Grace, Pratima and I had already begun with giving reiki healings as early as 8.30 am. It was amazing to see the willingness in people wanting to experience Reiki healings. To begin with our group was put up with a tent shared by some other organizations but looking at the crowds gathered for Reiki, we were then placed in a more spacious tent all by ourselves to enable us conduct the Healing Samplers on the curious crowds.

Our Guru Kamal gave a presentation to a very inquisitive and attentive crowd in the presentation area. During the short interval of the presentation, she explained the basics ref what is Reiki and its healing aspects. The audience was very receptive

And they placed their hands on various Reiki positions as being demonstrated by Tejal and Vaishali.

Meanwhile the rest of the group members present continued with the healing “samplers” to the people who had queued up. Once the presentation was over, Kamal herself joined all of us and at any given time we had nine healers and nine healees in a continuous Reiki mode. The queue was getting longer and longer outside our tent and it was very heartening to see this “Hunger for Reiki” among people.

Later in the morning, all tents had to pack up and each and every person present was expected to be at the lawns where Mass Yoga Session took place. We all participated in the Yoga as well and I was full of gratitude for the day so well spent. Since it was a multiple of occasions on this day 21-06-15 being celebrated as Father’s Day, Yoga Day, World Music Day, Summer Solstice Day as well as World T-shirt Day I am glad I got this lovely opportunity of doing the Seva and celebrating in a way taught by Kamal.

REIKI LEVEL 2 CHILDRENS’ CAMP IN KANGEMI!

One more Reiki camp conducted by us! The children of Kangemi that we had taught the 1st level of Reiki a few weeks ago, were eager for us to take them to the next level!

So on 4th June 2015, LHSG sevaks Mamta, Punita, Deepa, Bindi and Kamal arrived at the centre in Kangemi at 9.30 am. Within a short time, 33 children were assembled and we started the class.

The Reiki symbols were introduced, and the students were asked to practice drawing them. To our immense surprise, in less than 15 minutes, each and every child knew them by heart! They were a bright lot, those children!

After the attunement and self healing, lunch followed. They ate the vegetable burgers and mandazis with relish!

Next came sending healing to others, to souls, to relationships, and writing intentions for the Reiki box. Finally came group healing for the Earth and for their Reiki boxes.

The LHSG sevaks were assisted in the training by Prafulla, Lakshmi and Bhavna, who run the centre as a feeding centre for the Kangemi slum children.

And now we had 33 children ready to take their place as New Reiki level 2 healers in the world!

At the end of the camp, the children were given milk and biscuits to take home

Thus it is that LHSG continues with its seva of raising the vibrations of the world by empowering more and more people with Reiki!
