LHSG’s 96th And 97th Reiki Camp!

On 28th April 2016, Lotus Healing Seva Group held 2 simultaneous Reiki training camps for the girls of Talia Agler Girls Shelter in Wangige, Nairobi. Twelve girls and the social worker Margaret who had done Reiki level 1 a few months back were trained in Reiki level 2, while 16 new girls at the shelter and their teacher and assistant teacher were trained in Reiki level 1.

The shelter houses girls aged 8 – 20 years that have been exploited, abused, abandoned and trafficked. Through Reiki, it is LHSG’s mission to help these girls heal from their physical, mental and emotional traumas.

Please read on for the write ups of Mamta who conducted the Reiki level 2 camp and of Punita who conducted the Reiki level 1 camp ….

Our Reiki camp at TAGS was a  lovely experience!

We had 18 girls for level 1 and 12 girls for level 2! They were very enthusiastically waiting for us. We were 6 volunteers Punita ,Nuri, Neena , Jean , Dee and me.

I found the girls totally dedicated and it was lovely to see how they managed to do everything even as some of them would rush out to change their babies quickly or even bring them in and feed them so that they would not miss out on anything!  One girl did the entire level 2-self healing and distant healing with one hand as she held her baby with the other hand throughout  ! !

The girls were extremely happy to learn Reiki 2 and even wanted to do level 3!

I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to do this sewa and touch their lives in some little way !

The biggest joy I feel is that these girls have changed drastically from being  quiet and withdrawn to confident and happy since Reiki came into  their lives! The most amazing thing is that they reached out to the new girls by giving them Reiki treatments to help them feel better! They are really true healers!

On 28th of April 2016 LHSG went to the Talia Agler Girls shelter to teach 16 students and 2 teachers Reiki level 1. Our group leader Mrs Kamal Tolia had appointed me to teach this group. This was my first time to teach.

The girls were very receptive.  They were between the age group of 9-16. In order to break the ice, I asked them if they knew how Reiki would help them in their lives. And these were the answers I got……

*It helps you to heal yourself

*it helps you stay calm

*it can heal your family member who are sick

* it helps you relax

* it helps you to sleep better

At this point, I had a jaw-dropping moment! I was so impressed with all these young girls.

I attuned them and they were not at all restless or fidgity. I went on to teach them and their concentration span was so good that nothing had to be repeated twice.

When it came to self healing they were doing it so well, but partner healing impressed me the most. Not once did I tell them what to do next………kudos to these enthusiastic healers.

When I started teaching the 5 principles they was just being recited without even a glance at the paper. Another Wow moment for me!

I felt so blessed attuning these lovely souls and my heart was filled with Gratitude, that I could empower these young girls!

Last but not least I couldn’t have done it without my colleague Nuri with whom I had the perfect team play.

Lots of love and light

Three Reiki Training Camps in Two months!

Lotus Healing Seva Group’s 95th Reiki Camp!

The morning of 14th April 2016 saw 18 Reiki trainee enthusiasts and 3 LHSG members gather together at 9 am at the Faraja Cancer support centre. The event was a Reiki training camp for cancer patients, their carers, volunteers and therapists at the centre.

The camp started with introducing the trainees to Reiki, showing them the chakra positions, followed by the attunement. Next they did self- healing which was followed by a break of tea, cakes, biscuits, crisps and hondwo (Indian vegetable cake).

Healing others came next. Before the closing of the session, the 5 principles were explained to them as well as the importance of drinking lots of water during the cleansing period.
Some of the comments from the trainees: ‘I feel so relaxed …’, I am feeling so much peace …..’, ‘I am feeling happy!’, ‘The pain in the operation scars in my chest has disappeared …. I have no pain!’ All were very happy with the new healing energy in their hands. But they didn’t want to stop at Reiki level 1 …… they were eager to move onto the next level! LHSG assured them that they would oblige in a few weeks!

And thus we came to the end of our 95th Reiki training camp. The sevaks were Sheela, Pratima and Kamal.

Another Reiki 1 camp done! Participants keenly engaged themselves and were thrilled to be able to heal. It was lovely to see such enthusiasm. I am grateful for the genuine interest and acceptance of Reiki by people of all walks of life. May the magic of Reiki grow from strength to strength ……

Another Reiki Training Camp at HMGC!!

Our HMGC camp on 16th March 2016 was a great success!

We had 18 students today!

2 of them came after the attunement so we did attunement for them while the others started healing themselves. They were all very good healers and the reiki energy flowing through their hands was strong (their hands were hot!)

The students (17 girls and 1boy)were very grateful for the beautiful gift of Reiki!

They have promised to practice Reiki every day and look forward to level 2!

It was a very beautiful sewa and I am grateful for that! I felt that there is a shift in energies as compared to before. Felt very touched to see a couple of them almost lying down on the floor while doing Reiki for their partners’ feet (suffering from leg pain) with total dedication!

They enjoyed all the goodies! They started the day with bananas and then enjoyed chapatis, githeri and water. At the end we gave them cakes and milk! We celebrated Isabella’s birthday with the cakes! Thanks to Isabella for all the help in spite of having a psychology exam today!

The sevaks for today’s camp were Bubbles, Cooky and myself Mamta. Thank you Bubbles and Cooky for all the help in making the camp a success! Thanks Shariffaji for this platform! Thanks all for your food contribution and your lovely energies!

Thanks Kamalji for the path of Sewa!

This was our camp no. 94!!!
