LHSG 20 years Part 32 Seva No. 97

Healing Nature. Blessing the Waters. Hugging Trees. Reiki for Souls.

These were the themes of a Reiki outing in the Karura forest in Nairobi Kenya, for our 153 Reiki Level 2 children and teachers of Mukuru Outreach Kenya Academy. This happened on 22nd July 2025.

After a small talk on the environment given by the manager July Kimutay, they proceeded on a nature walk, thought blessing the trees as they went. On reaching the waterfalls, they paused, blessed the waters with positive wishes like love, friendship, forgiveness, etc….. Knowing that in so doing, these wishes will spread to all the waters of the world …. Coming back, they went to the Amani Garden, where a tree has been planted for every person, including the unborn child, that died in the terrorist attack on the Westgate Shopping Mall, on 21 September, 2013. Even as they hugged the trees, they sent silent blessings to all the souls.

Our Kenya members Monica Gokaldas, Harleen Gokaldas, Evalyn Mwongoli and I joined in hugging and healing trees, and by extension, all doing the same for all the trees in the world

At lunch time, they first blessed the food (cakes, bread, sodas) with Reiki, before eating it. And at the end, of course, they enjoyed kicking a football around (what else!) on the field

They also received a goody bag each of 2 note pads, a pen, a pencil, an eraser, a sharpener, a toothbrush and tooth paste, from LHSG Founder member Monica Gokaldas.

My gratitude to the Education Officer Lucy Njoka, at the Karura Forest for arranging for this visit, and to the School Head Teacher Enock and Deputy Head Teacher Vincent for all their efforts in making this outing a successful one.

Do watch the video below, and take part in the healing as you watch!!
