Ho’oponopono Class

After the successful workshop of Ho’oponopono some ladies had requested to do a complete class about forgiveness and it was decided to conduct the same on May 3rd 2024. On the scheduled day, 2 ladies turned up instead of 5 owing to the heavy rains and flooding in and around Nairobi. The schools were closed hence some mothers couldn’t attend due to children being at home.

However, undaunted I, Monica Gokaldas moved ahead with training just the two ladies as they were quite keen. They both experienced a lot of release of emotions and were able to go through all the exercises very well. The ladies Sarika and Nikita did not have many past issues yet understood the significance of Ho’oponopono in daily life. They particularly found it interesting to do forgiveness with immediate family members and with elements of Mother Nature.

It was my late mother’s birthday in end of April and her death anniversary in early May and I dedicated this seva in her memory and consider myself fortunate to be able to give back to the society in my own way. I hereby wish to express my gratitude to Kamal Tolia who has groomed me into passing on this art to others selflessly.

Ho’oponopono Training for Brahma Kumaris

On April 6th 2024 I, Monica Gokaldas had the opportunity to teach the art of forgiveness using Ho’oponopono to two sisters of Brahma Kumaris Raj Yoga Center at the premises. It was a bright Saturday morning and Sister Jyotsna was eagerly waiting to learn this art although I felt being a spiritual person, she might not need to do it. The other sister Hasuben was a visitor from United Kingdom.

Sister Jyotsna mentioned that she had been curious about it since our previous workshop in January and had even googled information about the topic resulting in her curiosity even further. Hasuben was inspired to learn after hearing about the topic from other sisters at the center some of whom had earlier been trained by Kamal Tolia.

They both absolutely loved the session and I found it very easy to explain to them as they already understood how important forgiveness is for peace of mind.

Sister Jyotsna found one of the exercises very useful and said that people often call the BK sisters to come and bless those who are ailing or dying and that henceforth she would apply Ho’oponopono each time she is called for imparting blessings in such cases.

I hereby express my gratitude for this gifted opportunity of seva for gifted souls of these sisters.

Ho’oponopono Workshop at Raj Yoga Center

On 18th April 2024 the Lotus Healing Seva Group conducted a workshop titled “Ho’oponopono” at the Brahma Kumaris Raj Yoga Center, Nairobi. This was the second such workshop this year and came as a request from the Brahma Kumaris owing to the importance of Forgiveness in people’s lives. The earlier workshop conducted in January 2024 had catered mainly to those who preferred attending in the morning hours and several  working people had requested for such an event during evening hours hence this time it was conducted during evening hours.

The workshop was conducted me, Monica Gokaldas who was assisted by LHSG Members Pratima Dutt and Harleen Gokaldas.  Harleen very efficiently handled the presentation from the digital cabin which supported me as the main speaker in stressing upon certain aspects of Ho’oponopono; the Hawaiian art of forgiveness. Despite the heavy rains and traffic challenges the workshop was attended by about 80 people who keenly took notes about the significance of asking for forgiveness, being forgiving and the method of doing so.

The very cosmopolitan crowd consisting of Asians, Africans, and Americans found the art of forgiveness as a welcome complimentary discipline into their Islamic, Hindu, Sikh as well as Christian beliefs. The interactive session that consisted of a talk followed by practical Forgiveness exercises resulted in some emotional release, feelings of liberation and lightness. As I had limited time of 90 minutes I had to concise a lot from the detailed course of 3 hours, yet the impact was quite good as understood from the feedback from some participants later on.

The session ended with a short meditation conducted by BK Sister Dipti complimenting the talk about forgiving and asking for forgiveness. Sister Dipti thanked LHSG for their support and also expressed her appreciation to the participants that had braved the heavy downpour to attend the session.

Harleen then gave out forgiveness cards to all participants and Prasad was given to everyone before leaving the premises.

LHSG’s 3rd Reiki Training Camp in 2024!

After our two Reiki Level 1 Training sessions for Cancer patients, caregivers and volunteers at Faraja, and for the girls of Hawkers Market Girls Centre, we held a Reiki Level 1 training at Fikia Dada Centre in Limuru, Kenya. Fikia Dada translates into ‘Rescue Girls’ or ‘reach out to Girls’. It houses girls that have been rescued from abusive situations, young mothers, and girls rescued from FGM situations.

Sixteen learners, which included the girls, the housemother, volunteers and the ladies that have started the centre and run it learned how to heal themselves with Reiki and how to give Reiki to others as well. the training was conducted by LHSG Member Deepu Mahajan and I, Kamal Tolia, over two mornings, on 5th and 8th April.

They all learned the method very quickly, and asked many pertinent questions during the sessions! and all reported feeling ‘great’ after receiving Reiki on the first and second day! Their reactions and questions are recorded in the video below.

Lotus Healing Seva Group sponsored the lunch for them on both days, which consisted of cabbage, Vegetable stew, chappatis, potato mash, fruits and cakes.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Margaret Ngina who runs the centre, for accepting our proposal to teach there, to Sarah a volunteer and Elisa, a volunteer and who introduced us to the Centre.

And thank you dear reader, for staying connected with us!
