We are sleeping well. We do not have fear anymore. No more nightmares.  No headaches, stomach aches and back aches. We don’t fall sick anymore. These testimonies from the girls of Talia Agler Girls Shelter were validated by the Nurse-Manager Agnes. They music to our ears, and we knew Reiki had weaved its magic yet again!

Through the continued kind permission of TAGS Founder, Mrs Edith Morogo, Lotus Healing Seva Group has been associated with the institution for the past 5 years. We have regular Reiki training camps for the girls that are housed in this shelter. These girls come from traumatic backgrounds. They are victims of abandonment, abuse and trafficking for labour and sex. With Reiki in their lives, they slowly but surely get healed at a very deep level

On 30^th December 2019, LHSG Founder Member Monica Gokaldas and I, Kamal Tolia, accompanied by a friend Anju Mullick visited the shelter with a view to finding out how the girls were faring with Reiki, and to treat them to an end of year Chrsitmas lunch treat of Pizza, Crisps, Biscuit and Ice cream.

They did us proud as they told us that they practiced Reiki regularly. They also gave Reiki to Anju, and she was amazed at the Reiki healing power in their hands.

A home for Children aged 6 – 17 years that have been in conflict with the law, which may just be being caught for stealing sweet potatoes from a neighbour’s field, or for hawking, or for not going to school. A home which also houses children that have been abused by family and relatives, children that have been abandoned, children that have run away from home, and …… children trafficked for labour or for sex from the neighbouring countries.

Such a home is The Nairobi Children’s Remand Home, set in the suburb of Lower Kabete in Nairobi. Lotus Healing Seva Group has been volunteering in this home with Reiki healing Seva since January 2019. This has been possible because of the kind permission of the Manager Daniel K Njama and the excellent support of the Deputy Manager Reverand Gudah. Gratitude also goes to Erastus Kwako and Juliette Gikunda, who have been a great help every week in getting the room and the children ready. Without their help, it would have been very difficult for us to continue with our voluntary work.

Each time we have been visiting the home, it tears our heart out to know and see what these poor children have to suffer in their young life. We hope that with the Reiki healing we help in lessening their emotional and physical pain.

On 18^th December, after the Reiki session, we had a small Christmas and end of year celebration with them. We treated them to cakes, milk, bananas and mandazi (a Kenyan sweet bread), which they loved very much and which we have captured in the video below.

And so we completed a year of Reiki healing at the Remand Home and look forward to

continuing our Reiki work in the coming year.

Our first Seva took place on the 9th November in the city.

The Sikh Community were doing a Parade from out skirts of the city to the main time.

Harjit, Bina and I from our Reiki group distributed water and apples to all passersby. Some were the homeless. We had given Reiki to the water, connecting it to the waters of the world. About a 1000 bottles were given out on that day.

Then, on 15th December, we cooked a Big Breakfast at the Ronald McDonald home. Ronald McDonald home is very ear Perth Children’s hospital. Those parents with their children in hospital and are living about 50 kilometers radius of the hospital and can not afford to travel daily, live for free at the Ronald McDonald home till the child gets better or goes onto their forward journey. Most of the parents are with children in Palliative care.
Usually, from Monday to Friday they just get themselves toast or cereal, not a cooked breakfast. Only on Saturday and Sunday people can go with ingredients and cook for them. We are not allowed to take in cooked food.

We were 8 of us LHSG Members. We cooked the children’s, Mum’s and Dad’s Sunday morning breakfast. There were about 50 people, including children.

The breakfast consisted of Water Melon, Bananas, Omelets, Hash Browns, Bacon, Sausages, Baked Beans and Toast. They all really enjoyed it.

This has been our Seva for the last three years, by our Reiki Perth Group. The LHSG Sevaks that did this seva were: Bina, Rama, Randa, Suraksha, Leigh Preet, Jyoti and myself, Raj.

We started with a prayer, followed by giving Reiki to all the food items and then to the people who had the breakfast.

We felt very good within, and felt it was an excellent way to start the day.
