My neighbour’s daughter, Zenia Jain, 5 n half years old always comes to me for healing if she has pain anywhere and she feels good after it and she imitates me in her house.
For example : if her dad or mom has pain she will keep both her hands on that place and say that she is doing healing so I thought of teaching her Reiki.
Today, 29th September I ask her what I should teach her …. Reiki, she said …. if anyone has pain then she can do healing and cure that. So I taught her Reiki level 1 and she did very well. We both did chakra healing after attunement and she followed me very well.
After the attunement I asked her what she saw ….. she said she saw God and blue light. I asked which God she saw and she said that she doesn’t remember but it was God, so I didn’t force her.
I shall do 21 days self healing with her so that she finishes 21 days practice and will make her do healing to others as well
I taught her to pray before doing healing n say “God please help me to do healing” and after healing is done I taught her to say “Thank you God for helping me to do healing”. And she did that also.
The next day, 30th September, Zenia did healing today to my friend for pain in calf and she felt the energy. She also did healing to my daughter Maitri on her upper back and Maitri said its very effective!
An old lady wailing and crying …. Another old lady smiling at us …. While yet another few old ladies lying in bed, some sleeping and lost to the world, some staring vacantly at us or the wall … these are the sights that greeted LHSG UK members Lekha Quilter and Mala Tolia and I as we entered The Gayasingh Ashram (old peoples home) in Mauritius on Friday 21st March.
Once again with the kind help of Dr Ritesh (chairman), Pravin Boodhun (Treasurer) and Yasni Bowaneedin (Meghan)Puttoo (Public Relations) of Unitey Mauritius we had been introduced to the management of Gayasingh Ashram for elderly women, abandoned women and those that were suffering from depression and other mental illnesses. A section of it also dealt with Downs Syndrome adults.
We set about giving Reiki to the poor distraught lady that was crying and crying, not co-operating with the nurses. After the Reiki treatment, I hugged her and gave her love and healing. Heart to heart healing. The result was magical. Within five minutes she settled down quiet and happy.
We proceeded to give Reiki to the other sad ladies either on a chair or as they lay in their beds. Our hearts went out to them …. To be spending their twilight years in an old peoples home instead of being surrounded with the love and care of family …..
We were taken to other wards too, that housed young abused girls, some with babies and elderly women in various stages of dementia. They loved the Reiki and our special healing touch. Some shed tears. One of the girls who had ‘lost her mind and her voice’ after she had been repeatedly abused by her drug addicted father was brought to me for Reiki. As I gave her the treatment, I felt her physical and emotional pain. The treatment finished, no words were exchanged, but her tight hug of thanks said it all. Later, she came up to me, holding out a biscuit from her little packet of tea time biscuits ……. I took the biscuit. One of the sweetest expression of love I have seen!
A lot of Love healing flowed from our hearts to one and all in this ashram during the Reiki seva which went on from 10.30 am to 4 pm during which all in the Ashram including the care givers and staff were treated, with a break for lunch which we ate together with them.
I also got to witness the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra by the more able residents before sitting down to lunch, which has been captured on video.
Many thanks go to Nancy, the Head Nurse who patiently showed us around all the wards of the Ashram (old age home) and elaborated on the condition of each resident.
We donated Rs 1000 which was added to our personal family donations to make a total of Rs 5000 (Approx US$ 150) which was used to buy much needed items like Weetabix, Cereal powder and Vaseline lotion.
Please do read on for Mala’s account and please do watch the videos below.
The third healing opportunity took place in an Establishment called the Gayasingh Ashram in Port Louis, capital of Mauritius
This was a live in centre for the infirmed elderly, abused and mentally ill residents
The entire place was very clean and tidy. The residents were well looked after from a hygiene point
We were shown around by Nancy, who was the Manager there. She is also a Reiki master!
As we went into the dormitory for the severely afflicted elders, we saw a lady who was screaming as if in distress.
All 3 of us, Kamalbhabhi, Lekha and myself activated the highest sacred space around her , then gave her distant healing and then hands on when she had calmed down enough to touch.
She then completely calmed down altogether
Kamalbhabhi gave her her coloured crystal bracelet because she wanted it and she seemed very content and with it.
We were told later that her family had left her at the ashram after taking away all her possessions …… what a sad world.
So she was also craving love and attention
Having activated the sacred space for the entire centre and each individually separately, the atmosphere changed from downright depressing to very jolly and light all over.
We gave healing to each and every individual in that building, including the carers there. Even the carers took a lot of healing, due to the stressful demands of the upkeep of the residents, understandably.
There were a couple of 16 year old girls there with 2 babies; they had fallen pregnant after being raped and the Mauritian police had brought them to the Ashram for theirs and their babies’ well-being.They would live there until the mothers turned 18
The community spirit was great! They all played and carried the babies and helped look after them! Imagine if these girls were living amongst society! They would be isolated and judged and treated like pariahs although they were the victims. I wonder what happened to the perpetrators?
There was another 15 year old who Kamalbhabhi had given healing to earlier. At teatime, they were all treated to some biscuits and tea. This beautiful soul shared her treat with Kamalbhabhi! And when bhabhi shared her biscuit with me, the 15 year old took it back from me and gave it to bhabhi and shared another one with me! This was soooo touching! To have nothing but then share your treat with someone, wow!
It gives you perspective in life; we have so much, yet we fight with each other for more and here was this child who only had a bed in a dormitory, a plate, a cup and a glass by her bedside and was willing to share what little she had with us.
Quite a few of the ‘patients’ asked if we had had lunch as they were about to have theirs.
We made a donation to the ashram but Nancy said they needed body cream, breakfast cereal etc so Meghan went to a supermarket to get those items on our behalf and returned to the ashram where we presented them to the administrators, who also had been given Reiki.
The treasurer from the Hindu Unitey society, Pravin, also came to see us again; took pictures and video interviews of what we do as LHSG.He also brought us a lovely mauritian dish each of ‘siro’ made from rice by his wife!
We were just totally surrounded by kind and caring people.
All in all, another superbly rewarding and humbling experience.
At all 3 places, I did Ho’oponopono to each individual before starting the healing.
Continuing with our Reiki Sevas in Mauritius, Mala Tolia of LHSG UK and I, Kamal Tolia of LHSG Kenya, went to a centre for special needs adults. It is called APEIM, a French word for Parent Association of Children with Disability of Mauritius. Around 20 – 25 Downs Syndrome adults come to the centre to learn occupational skills. They make articles like book marks and key chains with beads.
These beautiful souls were so receptive to the Reiki we gave them. They were smiling most of the time …. As they sat waiting for their turn, as they sat for their treatment, and finally when they finished, they were all smiles all over again!
In all we gave Reiki to around 30 people, including the manager xxxx … and teacher Corrine xxxxx….
It was a privilege and an honour to touch their lives with Reiki
Special thanks go to Anishta Dharshini Seesurrun of the NGO Flame of Phoenix who gave up her time to arrange this seva for us and to the person in charge of the centre Mr. PauloVirassamy, the teachers at the centre Corrine Boutouri and M Rose Souroup …… who received us so graciously and were so very helpful throughout our Reiki healing Session.
The second sewa opportunity was at a centre called L’apiem in a town St Luc Curepipe in West Mauritius
This is a beautifully clean, well organised centre for Down’s Syndrome teenagers and adults
Again, they are taught vocational skills at this day centre
They grow their own herbs , spices and vegetables in their own huge, well maintained garden
The healing opportunity was organised by Anishta from a charity called The Flame of Phoenix.
We gave healing to 20 young adults who needed a lot of healing in their heart, head and thyroid area.
All were very receptive, grateful and appreciative of the healing
The teachers/ carers took a lot of healing too Anishta’s team interviewed Kamalbhabhi about the LHSG set up.
They would like us to visit again!
All in all, a very rewarding experience.
I was to go on a family holiday to Mauritius for a week. I sent out a message to my whatsapp friends in Mauritius to ask for a possibility of meeting to say hello. And lo and behold! What materialized was three Reiki healing sevas!
This is how my life seems to be turning out. I send out an intention of doing seva, do a bit of asking around, then sit back and watch. Be in receptive mode, be in the flow. Be open at all levels of my being. And God makes me be at the right palce at the right time to do the scea needed!
With the help of Mauritius based Dr Ritesh Gajadhar, Pravin Boodhun, and Meghan Puttoo of Unitey Foundation, we were able to share our love and light in 2 places and with the help of Anishta Dharshini Seesurrun of Flame of Phoenix we could do it in 1 place.
Our 1st seva was at Southern Handicapped Association school for Special needs children. We gave Reiki to about 40 children and staff.
To begin with we were taken on a tour through the classrooms. The children greeted us but were shy. Halfway through the healing session, the situation was completely different. To reach the washroom, I had to pass through the classrooms again. This time a child got up from her chair and gave a me a hi fi … another got up and gave me a hug …. And another did the same … then another and another …. Their show of love was unmatchable! This was the dramatic transformation after receiving Reiki!
This show of affection was repeated in a mega way at the end of the treatments when one after another, they would not stop giving me hugs …… Truly, Love begets Love! An indescribable blessing for me! If there be another blessing in the universe, then I know it not!
We ended the session with all of us chanting the Gayatri Mantra together.
The Sevaks that did this seva were LHSG UK’s Lekha Quilter and Mala Tolia, and I, Kamal Tolia of LHSG Kenya. Since it was Lekha’s birthday, Meghan had a surprise cake for her which Lekha cut to the chorus of Happy Birthday from the children, who thoroughly enjoyed eating it soon after.
With thank yous exchanged all round, we bid goodbye to the children, but not before donating Mauritius Rs 3000 (approx. US 90) to the school, which depends mainly on donations.
Please do read Mala’s account of this seva and watch the slide show and videos.
I just wanted to share the wonderful experience and opportunities that the Universe presented to us via Kamalbhabhi during our family holiday in Mauritius
Kamalbhabhi, Lekha and myself went to a beautiful seaside school on the south coast of Mauritius in a town called Surinam
This school specialised in teaching handicapped children up to the age of 18
They taught English , Maths etc to all but also taught vocational skills like sewing , crafts making to the older children to enable them to be independent financially.
They were taught in groups of no more than 8 in a class to ensure each student got individual attention and focus
We learnt that the school set up survived on donations and some money from the Ministry of Social Security
The entire school was very clean, organised and tidy
There was a special treatment room, no lights, to enable the patient’s sensory perception. We witnessed a 5 year old having her treatment by a qualified professional
We carried out our healing in the school’s beautiful garden on a bright sunny day , which was very unusual and uplifting in itself for myself and Lekha as we come from a predominantly cold climate country
The three of us gave healing to each child individually.
It was very sad to feel their emotions; for about 7 of them, it felt like they had suffered sexual abuse, including 3 boys
As it was a day school, it was sad to know that they would return each day to their aggressive environment
They had lice in their hair, again, a sign of potential neglect, but otherwise were well kept
Kamalbhabhi also gave healing to the 5 year old who suffered from muscular dystrophy
She was extremley calm afterwards and went into an unusually deep sleep; she wasn’t able to be still prior to her reiki session.
They were all beaming and uplifted after their healing session.
Meghan , kamal bhabhi’s contact , had secretly ordered a birthday cake for Lekha and it was very impressive that they had executed the set up the presentation and organised the childrens attendance so quickly. They sang Happy Birthday to Lekha, she cut the cake and it was distributed to all the children who thoroughly enjoyed the treat
Kamalbhabhi then asked them if they had enjoyed the healing and the response was very loud and very positive from them all; including the 7 teachers that we had given healing to as well.
The children gave massive hugs to kamalbhabhi and they did not want to stop!
Very very touching.
They gifted us with beautiful bags that they made themselves in the school.
We made a contribution to the school from LHSG.
The whole experience was very humbling
I know that you do a lot of sewa of this kind in Kenya and India but in the UK, we dont get these opportunities
