On 29th July 2017, Lotus Healing Seva Group (Kenya) was invited by the Asian Foundation to a tea for all exhibitors at their Stawisha Maisha (Transforming Lives) exhibition held in May this year.
Monica Gokaldas, Punita Acharya and Kamal Tolia represented LHSG Kenya at this event.
After thanks were exchanged between the exhibitors and The Chairman Dr Chandu Sheth and his team, a few points for improvement for a similar exhibition in the future, and summing up of the objectives achieved, certificates of participation were issued and tea was served.
We interacted once again with representatives of the other Charity foundations, and struck a positive rapport with The Giants Group Twiga, with whom we saw a possibility of partnering, in providing Reiki training in the schools they support.
The certificate is hard copy of the principles that Lotus Healing Seva Group stands for … Transforming Lives through Empowering with the healing energy of Reiki, for Physical, Mental and Emotional balance and healing which leads to individual peace followed by World Peace!
Forty eight young children of grades 5 and 6 received the gift of Reiki from LHSG members Mamta Advani, Pratima Dutt and I, Kamal Tolia. This happened at their school Sathya Sai School in Uthiru, Nairobi on 26th July, 2017.
LHSG’s association with the school has seen 2 Reiki training camps earlier this year for the older children of grades 7 and 8.
The young children were excellent learners. They absorbed the teachings in one shot … and asked very pertinent questions at the end, like, did Madam Takata have to pay Dr Hayashi for the Reiki treatments she received from him?
Self healing was done with sincerity, following the cues given by the teacher. In the afternoon, they partnered with a friend for partner healing. With a little guidance, they performed this ‘healing giving’ perfectly! There were many a nodding head among the healees who had drifted off into ‘lala’ land as they relaxed during the treatment …
The enthusiasm of the children was evident throughout the day in the way they willingly embraced Reiki, the way they quickly ate their breakfast and lunch and came back to learn more!
We had some funny moments too … they were curious to know whether our hair was our own and not an attachment! So Mamta had a few of them feeling her hair as she passed by! Later on during photograph taking time, we confirmed to them verbally that our hair is indeed our own natural hair … and allowed them free touching and feeling our hair, much to their merriment and laughter!
And so it is that we completed our 83rd Reiki training camp on Kenyan soil!
Please do see the pictures and watch the video which tells it all, including the ‘miraculous’ healings of the children’s aches, coughs and stress ..
Chanting Aum out in the open air with the trees as witnesses … pouring Reiki blessed water in a stream for it to reach all the waters of the world for so it reaches all who live and breathe, blessing our little 8 month old trees, and loving and blessing our giant trees planted 5 1/2 years ago …. These were the highlights of LHSG Kenya Group’s outing in the Karura Forest in Nairobi on 20th July 2016
The whole uplifting experience gave us a high that lasted well into the next day!
The sevaks that took part in this seva outing were Mamta, Monica, Srinidhi, Karima, Anuradha, Nalina, Nuri, Pooja, Laveena, Neha, Pratima, and I, Kamal.
Please read Monica’s account of the day, and enjoy the spiritual vibrations that come through our pictures and videos!
The decision to conduct the Thursday Group Healing Session at Karura Forest was a welcomed one. Though some members had travelled and some were busy the rest of us went ahead with the plan and thankfully so.
Our usual excitement of visiting the forest was slightly blurred upon reaching there as we realized that there was some political event about to commence at the place allotted to us through a pre confirmation by the Karura authorities. We were met by a crowd of over a thousand people to our surprise.
Nevertheless, the slight disappointment that threw us off balance for a few minutes was soon overcome once we moved on to another part of the forest. The mike blared at us from the other direction as speeches were being made yet undeterred and unperturbed we carried on with the group healings amongst the tall trees around us that seemed to listen to our hearts and passed on loving vibrations that enhanced the healing.
Once done with the usual Reiki Healings we all walked towards the plot where we had planted trees on the 17th of November in 2016. To our delight, in less than a year the trees were flourishing and growing healthy. Guided by our Guru, Kamal Tolia we sprinkled water and gave Reiki to each tree in that plot. While on our way to the plot of trees we had poured out some of the healing water in the stream as well while chanting positive notes along with Om Shanti.
Once done we visited our older plot of trees planted on 29th April 2012 together by the Kenya, U.K. and India members of LHSG. Our hearts knew no restrictions of emotions as we were overjoyed to see them grown nearly double our heights and strong. Our little babies had grown well and we blessed them with loads of positivity, gratitude and of course Reiki Energy.
We returned to our spot where we had conducted group healings and had a farewell lunch for one of our members Pooja Tiwari who is scheduled to leave Kenya soon to move to another destination. The trip to Karura Forest acted as a battery recharge for me as I felt so very connected with nature. Despite the uneven path that we walked upon, I felt vibrant and energetic while over there.
Mamta Advani of LHSG Kenya, assisted by Pratima Dutt also of LHSG Kenya, taught Reiki level 2 at Faraja Cancer Support Centre, Nairobi. The date was 14th June 2017. It was an intimate gathering, with 7 learners who had done Reiki 1 a few months ago.
Please read on for Mamta’s account and see the pictures that follow.
The Reiki level 2 camp at Faraja was attended by 7 ladies, 3 people from Faraja Cnacer Support Centre and 4 girls from Hawkers Market Girls Centre.
Pratima Dutt and I conducted the camp.
All 7 of them had beautiful experiences to share of how Reiki is helping them to heal themselves and others. They had done Reiki 1 a few months ago. They were eager students who learnt and practiced distant healing well! They learnt the symbols and different methods of sending healing. They happily made their Reiki boxes and sent healing to Mother Earth with all their hearts! I am grateful for this beautiful Sewa opportunity !
