Old People’s Home, 3rd Visit
This was our 3rd visit to the Nymba wa Mzee in Kasarani this year. We had been in February, March, and now on May 31st.
The LHSG Sevaks for this Seva were Bubbles, Pratima, Neena, Cooky, Punita, Mamta, Monica, Grace, Shariffa, and Bhanu from LHSG UK, who was in Nairobi at that time.
We have been requested to come again, as the residents of the Home love our Reiki Healing Touch. This holds true for the sisters, the workers, and aspirants too.
So Lotus Healing Seva Group will be doing seva every month at this place from now on.
From the accounts of Mamta, Punita and Monica below, it is clear, indeed, that Reiki is much appreciated and very welcome at this Home!
Please also watch the photos that follow, which say it all!

At the Nyumba ya waze gratitude was just pouring out from the old people in the form of blessings to each and every one of us. They were so ready to receive Reiki from us that they all were ready before we reached there. Ready praying first. Then ready to receive Reiki. The Sister’s organization was so perfect. Everything was looked into before our arrival. While we were there everything worked like clockwork. It was a day when I just felt so touched every time I could bring a smile on those innocent faces.

Interaction with the Aged
The visit to the home turns me emotional each time as I feel I reconnect with my ancestors by meeting the elderly. This visit in May was good as they all awaited us eagerly. In a few months they have understood and appreciated the way Reiki is helping them. The initial resistance shown by some of the elderly a few months ago has faded away and they all enjoyed the session.
Despite the language barrier, they tried explaining their demand for healing at certain parts of their bodies as they now knew that the Reiki has been helping them heal. One gentleman that I was attending to, turned sideways to enable me give reiki to his back that has hurting him even before I could request him to do so. He then sat through patiently while I gave reiki and did the spine balancing and refused to go out to meet his visitors until I had finished giving him the healing. This positive response and acceptance speaks volumes of the difference Reiki and our human interaction has made to them. I am very grateful for such seva opportunities.

The Old Home Sewa today moved us deeply! I felt that Reiki is such a beautiful way to reach out -as the true “human touch ” !
Every heart cries out to be loved and the old people were perfect examples of this!
The elderly were receiving the healing very sweetly .They would take my hands and place them on different parts of their body to show where the pain is.
They appeared like little babies soaking in the love and light showered on them!

The Reiki I camp today 24th May, 2017, at the HMGC classroom for the 11 Mukuru computer/tailoring students went well and smoothly.
The group of young adults of 2 men and 9 women were curious and eager to learn the know how of Reiki principles and hands on method of giving Reiki. Rashmeen, who assisted me, was able to join me in attuning the group successfully.
While partner healing was going on, one of the girls, Bridget, who was giving healing, experienced a sudden onset of dizziness followed by a severe headache. I immediately had her sit down and started giving her Reiki on her head. I noticed with her headache, Bridget was also hyperventilating. As Rashmeen gave her some water and sugar, she relayed that she gets these headaches frequently due to low blood pressure. After giving her Reiki healing for about 10 – 15 minutes she experienced significant reduction in pain and was also breathing more comfortably.
When we had our questions and answers session at the end, Bridget was able to tell us how Reiki helped her so quickly because she normally took about an hour to recover. This first hand experience tremendously demonstrated the power of Reiki to the others. The credibility of Reiki was reinforced. We were able to discuss the merits of Reiki in different situations.
Once all questions were answered, we ended the session at 3pm. My gratitude to Shariffaji for giving us the venue; Matrene for taking care of all our needs; Neena for the yummy lunch she provided; Rashmeen for her valuable support and feedback in assisting and last but not least, to my Lotus family for all your blessings and best wishes.

Stawisha Maisha – An Asian Foundation Exhibition
We were invited to participate in an exhibition by The Asian Foundation, Kenya. The Asians of Kenya are people that have their origins in India, Pakistan and other countries in the Indian peninsula. The theme of the exhibition was Stawisha Maisha, Kiswahili for Transforming Lives. The exhibition ran from 11th – 14th May 2017
Transforming Lives is what Lotus Healing Seva Group is all about! So we took up the offer, and took our place among many other philanthropic organisations operating in Kenya to uplift the poor, the needy, the destitute, the marginalized.
As usual our stand was the most popular in the hall, because of the free Reiki treatments we were offering to the public. Over the 4 days of the exhibition, we gave Reiki to no less than 294 people! Men, women, children all flocked to our stand to experience that special healing touch!
We also received oral testimonials from a few grateful recipients which have been recorded on video below.
Video 1.A lady who had diabetes, came for Reiki for an open sore on her leg. After receiving just one Reiki treatment, the oozing had stopped and the wound was beginning to heal! She was very grateful!
Video 2. An elderly man in a wheel chair was suffering from Parkinsons Disease. According to his Care giver, he could not walk properly, used to shuffle his feet while walking and get tired after a few steps. Bubbles Dhadialla gave him full body healing, after which he stood up and walked with support, confidently, without shuffling his feet at all. Not only that, he walked a fair distance, to the total amazement of his care giver and all watching him at the exhibition, and with a happy smile on his face! He too was very grateful, kept saying Thank you!
Video 3. Over 4 years ago, we had a terrorist attack in one of our malls in Nairobi. Young 15 year old Bhavya Barot was severly wounded in his arms and legs, and he had grenade bits in over 70 percent of his body. Lotus Healing Seva Group gave him Reiki treatments at the hospital and later at his home when he had been discharged. Four years later, this young man came up to our stall to give his thanks to the LHSG!
The LHSG Sevaks that did this seva were Rashmeen, Nalina, Shalini, Pooja, Laveena, Cooky, Bindi, Lata, Bubbles, Anuradha, Grace, Sheela, Priya, Sheela, Monica, Pratima, Mamta, Punita and myself, Kamal. We were also joined by 4 young girls from the Hawkers Market Girls Centre. These girls had been trained in Reiki by us.
Please read on for Monica’s account below, watch the photos and of course the videos that follow!

Stawisha Maisha
The participation at the Stawisha Maisha Exhibition not only made us at LHSG aware of various organizations helping the society in their own way, it also brought an exposure to our group. The three day event saw us introducing the drug less therapy called Reiki to numerous people of who 294 experienced the healing with hands from our committed team of healers.
With a humble decor of our stall depicting our simplistic down to earth approach we had to make a very early beginning- literally within minutes of the Exhibition declared officially open. No sooner did the gates open to public than we had a few curious enquirer visitors who wanted to understand what our group was all about. I asked thefFirst visitor, a lady if she would like to experience what I had just explained to her. She agreed readily and was spellbound at the way she felt relaxed.
After that, there was no looking back and no time to pause till the exhibition finally closed on the third day. The LHSG stall that started off with three chairs eventually had eight or more chairs at given times with times when we had a huge queue of people awaiting their turn to experience Reiki. We were overflowing and I even gave Reiki to a few people at a neighboring stall as our stall with all chairs occupied had a lot more healers and healees than we could accommodate.
On a personal front I am full of gratitude as this event came at a time when I was grieving the loss of my mother a few days back. The seva opportunity that came with Stawisha Maisha helped me ease my grief. The minute I would place my hands on someone to give healing, I felt a sense of relief and forgot my grief for the duration. In my heart, I knew that I had dedicated this seva to the memory of my loving mum. That made me feel satisfied besides helping others.
Some of the perks that we sevaks received were the lovely comments from the people who experienced the Reiki moments such as : . ” unbelievable “, ” such a calm feeling”, “oh my God, my headache’s gone”, ” I feel so relaxed” , ” how did you do this?” ” you have magic in your hands” and many more such heartwarming words. The icing on the cake was when on Day 2 we had Bubbles giving Reiki to an elderly gentleman on his wheelchair who wished to walk after the healing. He walked the way he hadn’t done in a long time and the video clip below speaks all for the miracle moment of joy.
Lastly I would like to express gratitude to our guru Kamal Tolia who has guided us all so well on the path of seva and instilled the wonderful teamwork spirit amongst us group members. My gratitude would be incomplete without expressing my appreciation towards Punita Acharya who took charge of affairs ref this event from the very conceptual stage and carried it forward with her efficient maturity from sorting the documentation to planning, stall decor and the volunteer rota. Thanks also goes out to the LHSG sevaks who dedicated their time and efforts to this beautiful seva.
