Another Reiki Training Camp at HMGC!!

Our HMGC camp on 16th March 2016 was a great success!

We had 18 students today!

2 of them came after the attunement so we did attunement for them while the others started healing themselves. They were all very good healers and the reiki energy flowing through their hands was strong (their hands were hot!)

The students (17 girls and 1boy)were very grateful for the beautiful gift of Reiki!

They have promised to practice Reiki every day and look forward to level 2!

It was a very beautiful sewa and I am grateful for that! I felt that there is a shift in energies as compared to before. Felt very touched to see a couple of them almost lying down on the floor while doing Reiki for their partners’ feet (suffering from leg pain) with total dedication!

They enjoyed all the goodies! They started the day with bananas and then enjoyed chapatis, githeri and water. At the end we gave them cakes and milk! We celebrated Isabella’s birthday with the cakes! Thanks to Isabella for all the help in spite of having a psychology exam today!

The sevaks for today’s camp were Bubbles, Cooky and myself Mamta. Thank you Bubbles and Cooky for all the help in making the camp a success! Thanks Shariffaji for this platform! Thanks all for your food contribution and your lovely energies!

Thanks Kamalji for the path of Sewa!

This was our camp no. 94!!!

Reiki Level 1 Training at the Talia Agler Girls Shelter

The camp on 24th February 2016 at the girls shelter (exploited, abused girls and rape victims) was a very beautiful and gratifying experience.

We reached there thinking only 12 girls were going to learn Reiki 1 wishing in our hearts that a few more would join! To our amazement all 22 of them wanted to learn! Hence our LHSG volunteer Nidhi had to take care of the babies!

The sevaks for this camp were Karima, Sheela, Srinidhi and myself, Mamta.  Karima did an excellent job of translating so that the girls could understand. Sheela did an excellent job of organising everything!

All together it was a great success! The girls healed themselves and others and were even looking forward to learning level 2!

We were really humbled with the whole experience of being able to help these girls who have gone through so much at such a young age!

While leaving them it was fun to see them happily blowing kisses at us  !

It was hard to believe that these were the same shy, quiet, sad girls we met 6 weeks ago! !

This was our Camp no. 93!

My deepest gratitude for the opportunity to participate in our Reiki camp at Talia Agler Girls’ Shelter. It was rewarding to see the girls’ enthusiasm wanting to learn Reiki. Personally, I felt, empowering the girls with this beautiful healing energy, was one way to enable them to heal themselves. Their individual traumatic experiences calls for any amount of healing that could help them to move forward in life. Thank you to Mamta, Karima and Nidhi for playing your part magnificently to make this camp successful. Mamta, your teaching prowess once again shined through brilliantly. Karima, your translation skill was superb, making it easy for quite a few girls to follow. Nidhi, your valuable support taking care of the babies in the background, enabled the young mothers to participate in class confidently. Last but not least, thank you to those who donated food and drinks for everyone at the shelter that day. Once again my humble gratitude to Reiki for making this another successful camp.

REIKI SEVA AT ELITE ENGLISH SCHOOL, DUBAI

By Monica Gokaldas

LHSG Kenya, Founder Member.

THE INTENTION

My trip to Dubai got a new meaning when I got to practice Reiki upon some very special children in February. I was planning to go and see my mother for a couple of days on my way back from India to Nairobi. At the same time I wanted to meet and pay my condolence to my Cousin Brother Harry’s family having lost Harry a few months ago. I could sense how disturbing it would be for the wife Ruchi to once again repeat the hurt feeling at having lost her husband. I certainly didn’t want to go and ask her the whys and hows of Harry’s death as it would be too painful for both of us as well as her daughter Mehar. So I decided to pay my condolence the LHSG way by offering to do a seva activity dedicated to the deceased making it my homage to my loving brother Harry who was always very helpful to those in need of moral or medical support.

THE PERMISSION:

I learnt from Ruchi that their daughter Mehar had started doing voluntary work at a school where she assisted teachers in teaching the Special Needs Children. I grabbed the opportunity and requested permission via my sister in law Ruchi to enable me go and do Reiki for those children. Luck favored me and the permission was granted on 12/2/16. I was scheduled to arrive in Dubai on 22/2/16 and the Reiki seva was finalized for 24/2/16.

ON THE DAY:

On the eventful day I was given a lift by my sister in law Sheila, a past LHSG member in Dubai. Four of us left together (Sheilu, Ruchi, Mehar and me) for The Elite English School in Dubai. This was the first time ever I was going to lead and conduct a Seva single handed hence I had requested Sheila to help me out. She was a bit hesitant being out of practice but then agreed to do it the way she felt comfortable. W     e reached the school by 9.15 am, way ahead of the 10am time allocated to us. While waiting we familiarized ourselves to the school as Mehar guided us. She introduced us to Ms. Heena Jaising, The Special Educator for the children we were going to meet.

Heena confirmed with me if what I was going to conduct would be safe enough of the children before allowing me to proceed as Ruchi hadn’t briefed her about what therapy would be used. Once I mentioned that Reiki is extremely safe practice and causes no harm whatsoever, she immediately told me that she had learnt Reiki too and had no inhibitions about it. Heena told us that the children under her care were slow learners/autistic/down’s syndrome affected and might not be able to concentrate on what I teach them or talk to them. She suggested I conduct a meditation with them.

I called upon Master Usui’s and my Guru Kamal Tolia’s guidance to conduct the meditation in a way the children could relate to. At 9.45 am we were finally led to the room that was to be the Reiki Workshop for the next two hours. The children were seated on the chairs and their faces were brimming with happiness to see Mehar. They appeared to be very fond of her and hugged her, held her hands and greeted her as Didi (elder sister).  We ladies introduced ourselves to the children and then Heena told them that we were the teachers who will teach meditation.

I was quite surprised at the way the children arranged themselves with little bit of guidance from the teachers. They sat on the chairs placed in a semi circular way. The children who were between the ages 7 to 16 years seemed excited at the mention of meditation. Since I thought it would be better to make it simple and interactive I called upon Master Usui once again along with the LHSG etheric Group to add on their energies along with mine.

THE MEDITATION AND REIKI:

Before commencing with the meditation I placed the intention of Reiki to flow through the hands of all children and everyone else present in the room while going through the steps. It involved placing their hands on each part of the body one by one, starting from the Crown Chakra going towards the feet. While I gave instruction Sheila was very helpful in displaying the posture and also correcting their postures. The children were very interactive and took very well to this. To my amazement, they were the ones prompting me for the next part saying, “nose/cheeks/chin etc”. At each position, they repeated after me, “my (body part where the hands were) … I love you”, thrice. Besides that we together (the students and I) discussed the significance of each part of the body.

They were so happy at offering this love to themselves that towards the end they clapped with joy. Then Sheila and I gave them mass healing as the teachers said they might not allow us to place our hands on them or might not be able to sit silently for that frame of time. But with faith in our hearts and blessings from the Almighty we made a beginning with a little girl who had impaired hearing. The teacher, Heena felt at least this one girl should receive the benefits of hands on healing.  Before we knew others were lining up and sitting on the chairs besides mine to get the hands on healing. Sheila once again was a big help as she joined in too.

Together the two of us gave hands on healing to 27 of the 29 children, six teachers and our heroine of the day Mehar Panjabi as she is still grieving over the demise of her father Harry. The children though did not like to settle down quietly, for Reiki stayed calm and smiling while receiving it.

GRATITUDE:

I give a very big gratitude to my Guru, Kamal Tolia for instilling these noble thoughts of seva in me on occasions happy or sad, celebrations or grievances, seen or unseen. I give my gratitude to the management and teachers of the Elite English School, Dubai for permitting me to conduct this workshop, it being a very humbling experience.  Mehar Panjabi in particular deserves very big thanks for making it possible.  Finally I thank my pillar of strength, my sisters at Lotus Healing Seva Group, who added their energies and wished me success at this workshop.

LHSG Holds its 92nd Reiki Camp! !!

Gratitude, Gratitude, Gratitude! To God and the Universe for continuing to afford us, Lotus Healing Seva Group, wonderful opportunities to reach out to more and more disadvantaged people in our society.

11th February saw us brave the heavy downpour in Nairobi to reach the Sai Seva School in the Kawangare slum of Nairobi, where 68 beautiful souls were awaiting us to lead them into the world of Reiki. They were split into two rooms and taught Reiki level 1 by Sheela and Kamal.

The attunement and self healing was followed by a delicious lunch of vegetable burgers, chappati and milk, which they enjoyed very much. Then came healing others. Next they sang devotional songs of Sathya Sai Baba and and Shiv Yog. Finally, they were given snacks of fruitfull smoothies and biscuits.

The group consisting of 60 children, Mr Samuel, the Headmaster and 7 teachers loved the new energy in their hands, and did a great job healing themselves and their partners. By the end of the camp, they were all eager to go onto Reiki Level 2! We promised to do return to teach them Level 2 after a few months.

Many thanks go to Bubbles Sian, the patron of the school, and Heena Shah, Surbhi Shah, and Rita Pandit, also patrons of the school, and the Headmaster Mr Samuel who very kindly allowed us to extend our Reiki teaching and share our Love and Light in Sai Seva School.

Neena …… Thank you kamal Aunty for yet another Seva opportunity. Today’s camp was very special for me as I did mass attunment for the first time. The energy of the place was very nice, the kids as well as the teachers attending the camp were very positive and disciplined . I was very amazed by the thoughts written on the blackboard and those were reflecting in the children’s behavior too. I am sure these kids will become great reiki healers. Looking forward now for the reiki level 2 camp in future

Kamalji conducted reiki 1 .The teachers and children were very receptive smart and intelligent. They followed the instructions as told. Lunch was served, you could tell they were well trained and organised. The second half of the session started with giving hands on healing to their partners.
The day ended with a group photograph and snacks served to them.
Thank you kamalji for always giving this wonderful opportunity to me n my sisters. SEVA always leaves me high for couple of days. Looking forward for doing reiki level 2 with these kids.

Shariffa ……
See these beautiful blooms of orange?
That God grows from seed?
It Brings to mind the children
As they confidently learn and heal
Felix lays loving hands upon his very own teacher
Here are those orange blossoms dedicated
To lovingly heal with
Patient hands and hearts
Under Jean’s guiding hands
The silence helped to raise
The energy of the chanting
The vibrations of attuning
Those open hearts like marigolds
Just bloomed and bloomed
All the squalor and degradation!!
These uncared for wet lives
They struggle on never give up
Jean’s loving melodious voice smoothed
Our way into Kawangware
Seeing those angelic faces
The muddy slippery downhill slope
The struggle up the mud roiled path
All became a blessed path
To yet another Lotus HEaling Seva Day
With gratitude to our teachers
Sheela and Anuradha
