Reiki 1 Training Seva
We had a Reiki level 1 training seva camp at Faraja cancer Support Kenya on 12th March 2026 where we had the opportunity to train and attune 44 people to basic reiki knowledge and practice.
I was assisted by Kenya LHSG members Bhavna Baga, Sarika Falor and Shariffa Keshavjee. It was Sarika’s first seva at a camp hence Shariffa Ji guided her with the registrations.
We had a variety of attendees at the camp as we had several ladies from the Hawkers Market Girls Center alongside cancer patients, caregivers and therapists who were joined by members of the community that have been benefiting from our weekly free reiki sessions at Ram Mandir.
HMGC ladies were joined by their teacher Isabella who partly assisted them at intervals. Most people felt exhilarated with the reiki attunement and the self healing practice with the headaches and stomach aches eased and one person with a frozen shoulder found more agility in her shoulder. They were very happy and at lunch time we served them a sumptuous snacky vegetarian meal sponsored by LHSG and Faraja.
Post lunch break the session progressed into partner healing where they learnt to give reiki therapy to other people. The younger group of HMGC finished this session quicker than the rest and we finally concluded with a bit more of explanation of Reiki principles, benefits and importance of daily reiki practice. Finally certificates were handed out to all new reiki healers and we closed with group photographs.
My gratitude to the opportunity of conducting this camp as I believe each time I teach I learn something from the experience of dealing with different people. I also wish to extend my gratitude to my Reiki Guru Kamal Tolia for enabling me and trusting me with handling this camp.
