World Forests Day is on 21 st March. Lotus Healing Seva Group members, adults and children, in different countries, marked it with Reiki and Mantra chanting. Many thanks to our UAE memebr Kirtikala Kamdar, for putting together the sevas done.
Do read on, and do watch the video that follows, which shows some of our members in Kenya and India doing this seva.
Kamal Tolia LHSG Founder Member.
Kamal Tolia, Nairobi, Kenya
I sat down to chant 1 Mala of Aum Vandevi Namah. Which means, I bow down to Our Goddess of the Forests, in gratitude for all that she bestows on us, for keeping the forest’s biodiversity balanced and conducive to Life as a whole. After that, I sent Reiki to our Karura Forest which is in Nairobi. As I was doing that, our Ngong Forest also came into my awareness, so I included that as well. The healing went on, a steady flow. After 20 minutes, I closed with the command that the healing should remain activated for the next 60 days starting now. And i bowed to Vandevi again.
Rohan Tolia, Switzerland, (10 years)
Today I connected with my grandson in Zurich, who is one of the youngest members of LHSG. I told him about World Forests Day, discussed about what forests consist of, ….. trees, animals, plants, insects, worms, soil, etc. and their importance to life. I told him about Van Devi, I didn’t have a her picture, so I asked him to imagine what she would look like. He said: a Tree, with birds and butterflies on it, and other plants on it (I think he meant creepers). We spoke about forests conservation, and he immediately said not to cut down trees. We ended by giving our gratitude to Vandevi for all that she does for us humans, and we chanted Aum Vandevi Namah 9 times.
Kirtikala Kamdar, UAE
Our Master, Kamal Tolia taught us Etheric Havan during the covid days which helped us a lot. I performed this Etheric Havan (in a sacred, typically square-shaped, vessel used in Hindu rituals to hold the consecrated fire (Agni), acting as a conduit between human and cosmic consciousness. Made of copper, iron, or clay, they are essential for rituals like Havan) and spread the ash all over the world forests, air, and water. The air of the world will soon become impure due to the fire caused in the World War in Middle East and some other parts of the world due to various reasons. The trees are being abused, and we need to protect them. The whole experience was beautiful. I chanted the mantras into the havan and felt that some other saints were sitting along with me, in a circle, and taking part in this process. In the end we took the ash and spread the map all over the world imagining it has covered all the forests, seas, air, humans, animals, every creature, etc. I felt blessed doing this.
Boaz, Umbrella Childrens’ Home, Nairobi, Kenya
Children of Umbrella Children’s Home, Nairobi, joyfully celebrated World Forest Day by sending Reiki healing energy to the trees within their compound. Through this special connection with nature, they express love, care, and gratitude for the environment around them. The children appreciate the positive impact Reiki brings—restoring balance, nurturing growth, and promoting harmony in nature. This meaningful act reminds us of all the importance of protecting and valuing our natural world, as we work together to create a healthier and more peaceful environment for future generations.
Vikram, Adarsh Nagar Hindu Refugee Camp, Delhi, India
Adarsh Nagar Hindu Refugee children have taken part in today’s World Forests Day. On short notice, their teacher Vikram guided the children, and the kids did a splendid job and with dedication, as always. The children are always ready to do healing to any because that comes their way and Vikram guides them well. They gave Reiki to the trees in their one classroom school compound, which they had planted a few years ago, and chanted ‘Aum Vandevi Namah’, intending that the Reiki and the chanting be extended to all trees and forests in the world! Their pictures show their dedication and teach us to do more because if they can, we too can!
Vincent, Mukuru Outreach Kenya Academy, Nairobi, Kenya
Together with a good number of our learners in our school, that are Reiki Healers, we took part in World Forests Day activity on Saturday. Although we couldn’t manage to to move out due to the ongoing rains, I vividly explained what it was all about to the children and the importance of sending Reiki and good wishes to all the forests and creatures in those forests. The learners promised to go and look for at least one tree and give it a hug as a sign of love and gratitude. Two days later, when they came to school, some of them informed me that they managed to at least hug a tree and send it Reiki too.
