9th Anniversary Celebrations … Kenya, Nairobi, Seva No. 4

Event No. 4. Ho’oponopono Workshop for Cancer patients

Challenges in life can be many. They can take the form of difficult relationships, problems in the workplace, job issues, or even physical illnesses.

Ho’oponopono is a Hawaiin technique of asking for forgiveness for our soul. According to this method, all the challenges we face in our life are events we have drawn to ourselves, and all people that we have to deal with are there because we share memories with them, from this life or previous lives. We do this so we can learn the lessons inherent in the situation and then release it forever. Therefore trying circumstances and situations should be looked upon as opportunities to heal memories and let go of them, so our soul can evolve.

On 6th November, Kamal Tolia taught Ho’oponopono to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their carers at the Faraja Cancer Support Centre in Nairobi.

Forty six people attended. They learned to use Ho’oponopono to ask for forgiveness from others, from their heart, from every cell in their body, from the organ which had been invaded by cancer or any other disease, and also to forgive people and let go of the pain and bitterness in their lives. It was very rewarding to see some of the audience already feeling lighter and happier right away!

Since the LHSG members volunteer to give Reiki every week at the Faraja Cancer Support Centre, they had already introduced Ho’oponopono to a few of the patients and their carers, who had practiced it with marvelous results. Monica therefore decided that we should spread the teaching to more patients and their carers, hence the workshop, which she organized meticulously.

The sevaks on the day were Sheela, Punita, Nalina, Monica and Kamal.

And so concluded LHSG Kenya’s Seva No. 4. We went home with a warm feeling of gratitude to the Universe for affording us yet another opportunity to reach out to others and make a difference in their life.
