One of Lotus Healing Seva Group’s Objectives, raison d’eter, is to spread the awareness of Reiki among all and sundry. This is easier said than done, especially in the corporate world. But this did not deter our brave LHSG Kenya member Imrah Mughal, who went all out to introduce Reiki to her work colleagues in 2 online sessions!

During our weekly meetings at work, we have 5 minute sessions at the beginning on Mindfulness. For the longest time it has been about Yoga, breathing, and meditation. So I decided to spread awareness of Reiki.
Yesterday, on 14th December, I introduced about 15 of my colleagues to the world of reiki. I shared with them:
- What is reiki
- Its origin
- How it is practiced – hands on healing and distance healing
- The chakras and the different organs they are responsible for
- The benefits of reiki
- What chakra imbalances look like
- My own personal journey and experience with reiki
- The seva that LHSG does
- And much more
What I was pleased about is that our guest speaker in this meeting has been practicing reiki for 25 years. In as much as my talk was received with a lot of mixed feelings, the guest speaker’s appreciation of reiki sort of validated what I was saying.
The general comments by my colleagues are that in the next session which is going to be on Tuesday 20th Dec 2022 at 12:00pm – 1:00pm they would like a practical session where they can experience reiki.
I had a discussion with Kamal aunty and we agreed to get some of my colleagues to share the issues they needed healing for, so that we, LHSG Kenya group can send them reiki starting from today 14 December 2022 until Tuesday 20 December 2022 and during the practical session they can share their experiences.
Then on the followup session on 2o th Decemeber, I first played 1 min 30 seconds of the heart of reiki video. Then I played another video called 5 minutes reiki to balance your chakras. This was a guided video so they really enjoyed it.
After that they shared they gave their feedback on the Reiki received and what changes they had noticed. I have shred these below.
One person said she didn’t notice any difference. It’s at that point the guest speaker who practices reiki said that long term issues don’t heal overnight and she gave her own example of how it took a while to heal her digestive issues. So that brought the conversation back on a positive note as person F was bringing doubt into the experiences. The rest opted not to give their feedback.
As word goes around about the positive changes already being felt by my colleagues whom we are sending reiki to, the interest is growing. I feel I have set the ball rolling in Copenhagen and it’s only a matter of time that curious minds will seek out and even learn reiki. Gratitude to Kamal aunty for this strategy.I am sure its only a matter of time before other colleagues warm up to the idea of receiving reiki or even learning it
